If I was an armed robber, Canada would sound like a paradise of easy pickings.

Heck, why not just store them at the local police station, and simply give police a 72-hour advanced warning of when you wish to take your registered gun to the local, licensed, shooting range, of which you are a current, active member (proof required). Then, you can have the gun there all afternoon, and won't have to surrender it again to the police until 6 PM that evening! Why, and you could even do this once every month! With either of the two guns you will be allowed to own.

This is exactly what they said they wouldn't do when the registration was first proposed, but everybody knew it was a lie.

In Canada, where they don't have much freedom anyway, I can't see why a gun would be much use.

Maybe all cars should be as well so that they don't get robbed and then used as getaway vehicles in armed robberies!!

Mayor Miller is a dangerous man. I hope folks like him stay in Canada.

"The Mayor has repeatedly blamed lax gun laws in the United States for some of Toronto's violence, saying half of the firearms in the city originated in the United States. " I wonder how much fun it would be to go through life this stupid, take the legal guns away from collecters and see if crime is reduced.

"The people who commit crimes don't register their guns. It's as simple as that,"
It is really as simple as that.
If the Canadian government thinks handguns bought in the states are a problem, maybe they should tighten up the border security.

"If you are a collector and you have a permit, the guns need to be stored in a way that they can't be stolen."
They're being stolen by the government!

He added most gun owners would support tough sentences for individuals caught using firearms to commit a crime.Seemingly innocent and true comment, but the next step is to consider agun owner, who actually keeps posesseion of his gun, to be committing a crime.

Heck, why not be completely safe and store all your money in a central depot too. Fortunately for Toronto, I've just installed a central depot in my house.

If I'm remembering my history correctly, I seem to recall that some folks in Lexington and Concord had a real problem with this very same idea quite some time ago.
