"Let me be the first to say THIS IS NOT TERRORISM! True, I don't know a dam-ed thing about the crash, but IT IS NOT TERRORISM RELATED!!"

Whew. Thank you; I am so relieved that it is not terrorism. I usually hear an official state that within the first few seconds of ANY incident. I got real worried when no one uttered that phrase this time...until you did.

Thank you. We can all rest easy again until the next NON-TERRORISM incident. :)

Please put s-tags to that kind of stuff. With Chavez one can't really be quite sure.

Let me be the first to say THIS IS NOT TERRORISM! True, I don't know a dam-ed thing about the crash, but IT IS NOT TERRORISM RELATED!! (sarcasm) You know that will be the next sentence coming out of the media and anyone who is regarded with any authority in this crash.

But not nearly as tiring as the foaming at the mouth tinfoilers who assume every hiccup of their dog is caused by terrorism, as is every crash, power outage, and refinery incident. "Terrorism" on the tip of their tongues, followed by the usual "But it will be covered up" that lays the excuse for them to blindly ignore all facts and logic that would refute their knee-jerk position, just like the left uses moral relativism as an escape clause to justify anything that want, no matter how ridiculous or irrational.

I just read some info about the Greek crash this morning. It reeks of a HUGE cover up.

Total BS. Did terrorists also take down Payne Stewart's plane, or the jet that had the same thing happen to it years before over Indiana but was able to dive quick enough to a lower altitude and survive (with the copilot taking over for the incapacitated pilot)?

Why are so many people on this list so eager to claim terrorism and so intent on believing in vast pointless conspiracies? If either the Cypriot or Venezuelan crash was terrorism, why would anyone cover it up? And WHY WOULD THE TERRORISTS COVER IT UP? There's no point to doing terrorism if you keep it a secret afterwards!

Let's all put our foil hats back on the hatrack for a while, okay?

The West Caribbean Airways fleet consists of the following aircraft (at January 2005):

* 1 ATR 42-300
* 3 ATR 42-320
* 1 McDonnell Douglas MD-81
* 2 McDonnell Douglas MD-82
* 8 Let L-410 UVP-E

After the obvious cover ups during the Clinton years I'm skeptical about the findings of any plane crash. Not really bothersome anymore, I just realize that in these situations the truth and what is reported don't necessarily match.

You don't get it?

It's a joke, if a subtly sarcastic one, dude. Oh, and it involves much more than the recent plane crashes, too.

I suggest you put your excitability on the hat rack.

LOL.

Your opinion is always welcome, though.

..and now another crash.

It's been a very odd rule of thumb for years that major plane crashes occur in clusters of three. Not always true, but true often enough to make you go hmmmm.

Tragically you can scratch the MD-81 from your list.

As slipshod as this airline might be, hiding gross maintenence irregularities is just not that easy.

Correct. Here in the US, the CVR can be deferred, but only for TWO FLIGHT DAYS, and it cannot be dispatched for any station that has company maintenance. MX record keeping has to be so meticulous that my company has an entire floor dedicated to it. Thats close to 50 employees involved at various levels of govt mandated record keeping. The log cans, dispatch paperwork, and mx control records all have to match perfectly or the plane stays at the hangar or at the gate..

Couple thoughts - OKC bombing, according to those who have researched it, involved Muslim terrorists, and they have never publicly claimed repsonsibility. Likewisee that flight 800 was very suspicious, as well as the one that crashed into Long Island shortly after 9/11, and no one claimed responsibility for that AFAIK.

It is not easy for a non-psychotic person to think the way a terrorist thinks. Just because we wouldn't do something, or would, doesn't mean they would act accordingly. For instance, if they were planning more of the same, they wouldn't want to publicize their acts until after their plans were finished.

I know nothing. Just an armchair speculator. But terrorists are not normal people.
