Tehran, Aug 14 - A Chinese military delegation is expected to arrive in Tehran on Monday and meet with high-ranking Iranian military officials.
The delegation will also visit the Army's units and military training centers in order to boost the two countries' military relations.
The visit of the Chinese military delegation follows a meeting between the commander of the Iranian Army of the Islamic Republic and the Chinese military officials in 2002.
China has expressed interest in boosting military relations and cooperation with Iran.
Good. Islamists and Communists united to overthrow Mossadegh they also overthrew the Shah.
you have a lot of nice quotes
This could thow a monkey wrench in possible Israeli air strikes on the nuclear facilities in Iran similar to the 1981 attack on the Osiraq nuclear center in Iraq.
The trend of these events reveals that Uighur separatists are increasingly joining forces with Central Asian Islamic extremists to act as a unified front. This combination could well yield an expanded radical Islamic movement encompassing both former Soviet Central Asia as well as Xinjiang - a challenge for authorities in both the region and the US to confront. As in Chechnya, ethnic nationalism in Xinjiang, coupled with a repressive regime and an available radical ideology, may well plunge the region into a protracted and violent struggle
Looks like, in some respects, China is a potential ally.
Some I've had and most I've gotten from good folks here at FR....glad ya enjoyed the collection !
A work in progress of course......:o)
Stay safe !
China, Iran and Russia have been building new economic ties for some time (ease of transportation) and have been getting more involved with each other on security issues including the selling of some pretty fancy hardware (well, fancy for that side of the world) to Iran. The political parties in control in each of those countries are very nationalist in nature to various extents.
...don't yet know who will really be with whom, if China makes a move. Iran is fairly politically isolated, for now, but time is of the essence.
The most wise move for us would be to disseminate as much news as possible on those issues to general populations in friendly countries through the leaders and media in those friendly countries (which kind of public affairs work we've been lagging in for several decades). They should all know that our USA is not the sole potential target for designs of "empire" by overly nationalist regimes.
I don't know, but this has an extremely ominous ring to it. Will the Russians show up too? hmmmmm, not good
AND, this news on the heels of Bush's warning. In hindsight, it makes me think that Bush knows exactly "what's going on".
you too
China, hoping to get oil for an invasion of Taiwan? Mutual defense agreement?
If Bush goes to Washington, then Cindy won't get to meet with him! But if that happens odds are that shortly thereafter the media won't care about her anymore...
I think there's a lot of sh!t that is going to hit the fan in the next six months. I hope that the Pentagon budget and our military contractors are working overtime fullfilling our ordnance inventories.
Freedom for Iran before it is too late!
China wants two things from Iran.
1) oil
2) a distraction... focus the West on the Middle East instead of the Far East
China and Russia got 100,000 troops together a few weeks ago to practice scenarios that involved "facing a common enemy" They are both expressing extreme disapproval. This is why Israel will have to take the lead on the airstrike. Also why we hear politicians babbling on about how Bush shouldn't have said anything about force and that we would never dream of attacking Iran (whatever). I think the timing of the evacuation of the gaza strip is very telling. Maybe a buffer between the all out jihad that will happen if they bomb Iran? Now it makes sense why China stockpiled all that oil last year. Maybe to run things like naval ships and military vehicles? Also explains the forward positioning of their Navy in the straight of Hormuz. Does it bother anyone that the Chinese Over Seas Trading Company owns the largest shipping port in the Phillipines? (Known Front for the People's Liberation Army) Or that they also control the contract for the Panama Canal? Or that they are dumping $200 billion into developing diplomatic and business ties with all the pro Communist nations in South America? Or that they have accelerated spending on developing offensive oriented military equipment over the last several years to the tune of $20 Billion a year? Or that they have intentially discouraged the birth of females in their country over the last 20 years so that they easily have the man power for the largest standing army in history? If you go to www.cia.gov you can read the annual security report issued for all the countries in the world. The report on China is very sobering. We cannot allow ourselves to be in a position where rogue nations at the behest of China threaten us with nuclear weapons, but do we run the risk of engaging the Dragon? (According to senior military officials in China, war with the United States is inevitable in the next few years.) Also, their military produced a new procedure manual for war in the 21st century by studying our short comings in the middle east. They recognize that the strength that we enjoyed since world war two was based on large military engagements against specific countries. In this manual, they actually praise the attacks of 9/11 because of the massive amount of damage the terrorists were able to inflict not only to our buildings but to our economy. Because of this, they have developed plans to attack not only our infrastructure, but our economy as well. In short, if Israel conducts a raid on Iran they will know that is was with the full knowledge and consent of USA. Where that leaves us I don't know. Probably with an agreemet to withdraw from the Middle East within a certain amount of time and an agreement to get out of their hair about Taiwan. Just speculation obviously, but the alternative would involve a draft I think.
Get ready boys, we're about to have WWIII
sorry...i think it was $200 million in south america
China getting itself ready for the ultimate Zot...
My stomach is turning flips right now...I honestly think this is the first time in my life I've been scared. If we don't handle this correctly now, how many people will have to die before the appeasers catch on?
Suprise!
Ah yeeesh, the Communist Chinese are our friends.
NOT!
Duh.
