The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is holding a rally in Crawford, Texas today to show America's support for our troops, President Bush and the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
The rally will be held at noon at the Crawford Civic Center at 1000 4th Street.
Freepers are coming from near and far to join the H.O.T. Chapter in Crawford. If you live within four hours drive of Crawford, it's not too late to hit the road and get on down there.
Folks in attendance will be calling in to me, Brad's Gramma and Jeff Head with live updates from the scene. I am told that cellphone coverage in Crawford is spotty. However, it may have gotten better of late.
We'll see.
Hat's off to Basil, Doctor Raoul, The Sarce and 2ndAmendmentMama (and anyone else) who've been scrambling the past two days to make this happen. Good luck!
They are soooo cute...
You did good! I wish I could give you a hug...and maybe a back rub from having to drive so much!
I am reading your post, while watching this special on Fox about India Co. in Fallujah, and just saw a mother and father grieving for their son, who died in that battle.
Talk about dignified courage and grief---those parents epitomize it....I have to admit to having a few tears in my eyes as I type this.
Thank you for that letter....very good!
Hi there new Freeper friend.
Folks around FR do a lot for the troops. We're glad you found us!
Here's a great thread to check out and support our military:

In the beginning I thought I was going to be disappointed as we had already made one wrong turn and drove by the "hippie house" first. Folks there were holding "Cindy's Rally" signs. A quick call to basil got us to the right street. Basil told us to go down the road about a mile and we would see them on the left. Well, we went down the road and saw a big parking lot full of cars! My heart just about stopped. Then it sank when we drove by and figured out it was also for "Cindy's Rally". We had our window down and a "lady" asked us if we were there for Cindy. Hubby said he wasn't sure, was she there for Cindy? When she said "yes" we knew we were in the wrong location. We said we were here to support the troops as we turned around. Of course she said she was there to support them also and in fact her daughter was one of them! So now we know that there are more Casey's in this world whose parents undermine them at every opportunity.
We started the rally a bit late as we knew some folks were still on their way. It worked out well as it gave time for interviews. Dr.R and Basil did a great job. I was surprised that we had as much press coverage as we did. Even after the rally hubby was talking with a guy from an independent radio show. There was also a lady from Germany doing a documentary. I think I have that correct.
The Marine Moms and the soldier who spoke were just wonderful. Also, DrewsDad's son, did a great job reading the "If not for the soldier" (can't remember official name). Dad should be very proud.
Enjoyed meeting lots of freepers who we have only known by freep name. Blastus enjoyed talking to the secret service guy, the police and the lefties driving by. He also questioned them about the gas mileage on their oil burning, gas guzzling SUVs, trucks and minivans. I don't think we saw one protester on a bike! He did compliment the few he saw walking to their rally but we know they had a oil burner parked somewhere! They also had "shuttles" going back and forth all day.
One thing I'm not sure is clear on this thread is that our rally was not out by Cindy Sheehan. There were freepers out there but it wasn't the HOT Chapter rally. Maybe the left freaked out because they saw us at two locations.
Well, if I think of anything else I'll put in on the thread.
Sounds like a firetrap...
Lamenting that there was one, or that it was found before it's product could be used on our troops, or here at home?
Cindy Sheehan had already met with President Bush, and praised his efforts.
Pictures of her giving a consoling kiss are on the Free Republic.
She has since lied through her teeth about that meeting.
There must be quite a few links about this around here.
It would prove our point exactly if (the terrorists did kill her.
There is a definate need for more awareness in the general public. There are many that do not know of FR. That needs to change, especially since FNC is going lib on us. I would still be unaware of FR if I hadn't had to research a controversy here at home, --and PS-- the issue came down to politics--libs manipulating a supposedly good school system
YOu would have had a blast.
Gawd I love that slogan!!
Dr. R, you were AWESOME on FOX today!
Valerie, thanks so much for the pics and keeping those of us away from Texas in the loop.
ALL YOU FREEPERS AND FREEPERETTES ROCK!!!
Maybe, but I had a camera in my face during the singing of the National Anthem that said CNN on the side. I hope they didn't record my singing. :)
LOL---so far, the only picture that has been close-up and big enough for me to read the name tag, was centexan's.
Dang...the more I see the pictures, the more I regret not being able to go.
We know, don't we. I hope to God the populace will treat these communists much worse than they did back in the '60's.
I hope to God for my grandchildrens' sake!
Does Rush ever reference Free Republic?
I know he reads it...because I have heard him make comments that are verbatim what I have seen posted here!
He better START if he doesn't want to be left behind! :)
Thanks for your response to my parish priest. I have used information you and others have given me and sent him an email. Hopefully he'll realize the reality of this woman and never mention her again.
Thats okay...we will wait.....
we're waiting....waiting....
And the HOT chapter. Good going, you fantastic souls! I can't believe you drove to Texas, Doc. LOL!
