From friends at ABC; Peter Jennings is near death. This is unconfirmed, but from usually reliable sources.
The ABC anchor, who was born in Canada but became a US citizen, announced a few months ago that he was suffering from lung cancer. He has not made a televised appearance since.
I never agreed with some of the political bent, but he's certainly been an influential voice.
God bless him and his family in the middle of the cancer struggle. We recently lost an aunt to cancer, my sympathy is with both him and his family.

Lets hope the report is false and he is doing fine. Lung cancer is an awful thing and it is sad to watch.

He quit smoking 20 years ago.

Oh my goodness. I didn't realize he hadn't appeared on television since the announcement. This cannot be good. Prayers for Mr. Jennings and his family...
That sucks, he was my favorite of all the MSM evening news hosts.
The decline of Rather, Jennings and Brokaw couldn't have been more rapid.
He started up again after 9/11.
He put the best possible face on it but having seen this before I knew it was the last time we would see him on TV
Heavenly Father, I pray that You reveal Yourself to Jennings now so that he will know the magnitude of Your love for him. And that he know and accept the sacrifice that was given freely on his account.
For Jesus died for us when we were still sinners.
Smoking is not the exclusive cause of lung cancer, although that was apparently the cause in the case of Mr. Jennings. I was just recently informed that the husband of an old friend of mine died back in January of lung cancer; he had never smoked a day in his life. Small cell lung cancer is almost impossible to beat.
