I'm just sorry that we couldn't get Mr. Cain elected to the US Senate here in Georgia. What a breath of fresh conservative air he would have been in the Senate. He does a radio show Saturdays from 3-6p. You can stream it at
http://www.themighty1190.com/. Or just visit his website at

Herman Cain is an inspiration. His rise to success is proof that any American, any race, can achieve if they are willing to give it their all and not beg for federal programs to help them out. We will see Herman in the politican arena again, I hope. He would be great for America.

I was proud to contribute to that campaign and pledge to do more when he's ready to run again! His love of country and the way he expresses it reminds me of Ronald Reagan...

Maybe cause I'm older, beyond our freedoms and our technology, I am fascinated with how beautifully our economy has been running for the last 15 years or so. I agree that it's because of our respect for private property, our limited form of government, our entrepreneurial culture, and our educational/technological complex.
It is the envy of the world. And it is precisely this envy that is drawing China towards us, defanging itself to join the WTO, for example. It is this envy that is focusing most nations of the world to emulate us, even if it means culture shift and limiting their governments (mostly via democracy and the rule of law). It's interesting that Communism (Russia/China/Eastern Europe) is trying so hard to adopt Capitalism now. The only bloc of countries that oppose it, that turn their envy to destructive purposes, are the Islamo-fascist religious dictatorships and the terrorists that they harbor. After leading the world in mathematics, science, literature and the arts, these countries have not made a significant contribution since the 12th Century. They now sincerely wish to return the world to that "golden age" by toppling Western Culture and the economic/technological engine that it's created over the last 300 years.
Unfortunately, 9/11 proved that our "frictionless economy" is quite susceptible to a little sand in the gears. The disruption (primarily of air transportation) tossed us into a 5-6 month recession. But the engine is healthy and we continue to distance ourselves from these willfully poor and unambitious cultures. We simply have to protect ourselves, both defensively and offensively, from their insanity until the fruits of our culture, if only in economic quality of life, start showing up in Iraq, Turkey, and perhaps Afghanistan. That can and will change the entire dynamic of the Middle East, but it may require 15-20 years to clearly demonstrate itself.

Moral Clarity BUMP !
This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately on my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).
Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card. (I stopped keeping separate ping lists for David Warren and Lee Harris. I'll ping to their articles when warranted through this list. )

Excellent article. I love this man's attitude. I might just dine at Godfather's Pizza this weekend in support of him. It's the least I could do.;)

It's people like Cain and Pence that convince me that the noble ideal of a shining city upon a hill is not a myth, but a reality lived each and every day by millions and millions of Americans.

Perfectly said but as Reagan said "Freedom is not something to be secure in any one moment of time. We must strive to protect it each and every day. And freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction."
