Either social conservatives begin to create a foundation for their morals and values based on rational thought rather than religious dogma, or we will loose the debate on social values. It is very simple if your reasons for acting in a moral manner are merely based on your religion you will end up maginalized... repackaging moral values into a secular framework is the only way these conservative socail values will be welcomed into the society as it is now after 40 years of democrat social control.

The problem is that no purely rational, irreligious basis for a code of morals exists. At least, not an objective, fixed set of morals. In the absence of religion, only subjective morals are possible; that is, moral relativism.

I'm an agnostic, but I will not shrink from the logical consequences of rejecting religion.
