No. I guess he knew she was breathing in a bubble of air inside the submerged car and purposely calculated how long it would take her to run out of air before he would go to the police.

No, but he certainly knew not telling anyone for 8 hours ended any chance she had at survival. He had to realize there was a possibility she was still alive, or at least would respect her enough not leave her body at the bottom of a canal overnight.

The lengths some people will go to in order to defend such meanspirited accusations just astounds me. Shame on you.

Kennedy abandons a woman to die in a canal, and I'm the one with the problem. Liberal (il)logic if I ever heard it.

Sounds like you have a guilty conscience. If you have to pay your penance for something in your past, that's fine - but don't expect the rest of us to do the same.

I guess all of us would wait 8 hours to report a wreck in which a passenger was trapped below shallow water, possibly alive, after we, ourselves, had escaped. I mean...what's EIGHT HOURS if your totally DRUNK and need to wear that one off, afraid of a DUI and murder charge, have political aspirations, a big ol rich, famous family, and lots of $$$ to sooth the parents of the dying passenger. I mean....EIGHT HOURS? Heck. I am surprised he didn't wait a couple of days. /sarcasm.

Talk about lack of character and cowardice.

And this buffoon sits in judgement of others as an elected official. It makes ya wanna puke.

What an amazing gift you must have that enables you to analyze the hidden psychology of people you have never met, while strangely leaving you unable to address what they have actually posted.

Too funny.
