I'm sick to death of hearing about Chappaquiddic.

I think Kennedy is a despicable person simply because of his politics.
That is more than enough.

To repeatedly attack and accuse him years on end over a tragic accident is cheap and low IMHO.

So how many DUIs do you have? My guess would be several. Have you forgotten that Kennedy left Mary Jo in the car for several hours before he went for help. IIRC the autopsy showed that she suffocated in an air pocket, not drowned. If the spoiled little rich boy had tried to rescue her or even gone for help quickly she would not have died. That sure as heck wasn't an accident.

Hey GEORGE, are you aware there is no statue of limitations for murder, vehicular or any other type. Just because a Kennedy committed murder does not make him above the law and the repercussions of it. Kennedy probably would have spent about 10 years in jail due to drunk driving was not the mortal sin then as it is now.
Something else, GEORGE, did you know that Teddy (burp) Kennedy was always the black sheep in his family?? His father bailed his fat drunk ass out of so many problems even his father was disgusted with him.
One last thing, GEORGE, in my opinion, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones but in Teddy's way of life, he ran out of stones years ago and we should break every freaking piece of glass out of his mansion.
Oh yeah, GEORGE, if the truth hurts-----LEAVE!!!!!!

Oh, kind of like the libs going on and on, and lying about it, about Bush's service record? Or about his drinking problem which is long in the past? Ok for them but not for conservatives, is that the idea?

If Teddy had honestly faced up to his actions and lack of actions, I would agree, but he didn't.

No, it is not cheap. He is responsible for the death of a woman. He cut and ran, like a coward! This needs to be brought up again and again and again.

Oh well, I guess that makes it a moot point then, doesn't it. Someone be sure to notify Mary Jo's family that this no longer matters because Jorge is sick of it.

and mary jo k is still dead, even after all these years. she never married or had children.......he ended her life and the only thing he worried about was his political viability....he ran and left her like road kill on the side of the road.......I haven't forgotten. his behavior since is the life of a drunken sot.......he never learned a thing from that experience....it was not a life changing experience because he paid no price for that callous act. Mass. voters are a sad sad lot to give us this senator who continues to disgrace us. cheap ? nothing cheap about the life he took......she was a human being with a family who loved her.

Annie is just telling it like it is.........

Thank you for that brilliant insight Jorge. However, based on the fact that the vast majority of citizens can't even remember what they had for lunch an hour ago, I suggest that when a notorius alcoholic who comes from a family of criminal bootleggers, serial adulterers, SEC violators, cheaters on the bar exam, rapists, gropers, lousy skiers and bad pilots, we ought to remind them that this 40 ton waste of a human life is a rabid anti-American socialist drunk who killed a lovely young woman through his mindless drunkeness and cowardice, and now sits as a US Senator solely based on his dysfunctional families money, and that this piece of flotsam should be driven from our shores with all our contempt and hatred.

Jorge, may I suggest you may feel much more at home over at moveon.org!

I've got to hand it to you Jorge. You turned a potentially 200 post thread into a 700 post monument to Ted Kennedy's unworthiness to be in the US Senate. For that alone I thank you. :o)

"To repeatedly attack and accuse him years on end over a tragic accident is cheap and low IMHO."

The fat bastard never paid any legal or political consequences for killing that poor woman which was a crime not a "tragic accident" as you put it. If it had been anyone else, he would have done time. Accordingly, it is entirely appropriate to continue to "attack and accuse" him and in my less than humble opinion the SOB should be hounded to his grave with reminders of that crime.

I have to absolutely disagree with you here Jorge. This man sits in judgment of various judicial appointees and has repeatedly dug up or fabricated things in their past. Remember the great tub saying "even the hint of inappropriate behaviour" should disqualify a candidate" for a judicial position.

In most jurisdictions, this "tragic accident" is called vehicular homicide, since it was the direct result of drunk driving.

And it's just that, you humble opinion. The "accident" itself aside, what bothers many people about ole teddy's actions that night were this: He abandoned that poor woman in her watery grave while he took the rest of the night to go to a hotel, clean up, and call his lawyers.

You are wrong, teddy's actions that night needs to be remembered and repeated.

Oh really? Did you know that Mary Jo was found in full rigor mortis, seated position with her hands outstretched and fingers clenched like she was holding herself upright in the car's air bubble? Did you know that when they first pulled her out of the car there was very little actual water in her lungs (less than a teacup full) indicating death by suffocation, not drowning.

The Murdering Senator from Massachusettes, ran off and left her and waited HOURS to report the crime, in fact had to be almost forced to report it. He went to bed, showered, got up and was socializing when they pulled the car out of the water.

He ought to be put on trial as there is no statute of limitations on murder.

Nobody is blaming him for driving off the bridge. Drunk driving can and does happen to a lot of people regardless of politics and people of shallow moral character exist on all sides. If that were all this involved, we could leave it there.

BUT, it's what he did and did NOT do following the accident that defines his character.

And THAT's why this is an issue.

Jorge, I disagree with you completely.
That being said (for about the 700th time) I also disagree with those who would call you names here.
One can debate with a little class, if one is truly intelligent.
