On the Threat Matrix thread last night there was a link to an article from Debka (I know, I know, everyone says Debka knows nothing) that is very interesting in this context. Apparently Zarqawi (probably spelled wrong) made an announcent/message recently that he wants the terrorists in Iraq to spread out and start carrying out attacks in other countries. Faily detailed, and definitely coincides with waht we've seen lately.
If you're not familiar with that thread, it's been ongoing for - gosh, a couple of years I think. Just do a search and start at the very end of the most recent thread.
It is the Scientologists!!! They are trying to rid the world of all the humans they believe have been invaded by the space beings they say came to the earth 75 thousand years ago and took up human forms. Or some such stupid thing they believe.
Notice there's not a lot of islamofascists in the Deep South - the "good ole boys" know how to handle things down there!
Lighten up, Francis.
Don't you all think it is time to stop all the sarcasm on these threads of bombings -- people get hurt or injured and it is no laughing matter. You may think you are being cute but to people like me with a daughter and son-in-law deployed it is anything but cute!
I have heard this; do you have the exact citation?
Someone has decided to turn up the heat.
Turkey! Get out of Iraq now!
So would I.
Just have to wait until Steve Emerson publishes another one.
A wagon pulled by a camel? Isn't that profiling?
Considering how few attacks are going on right now in Iraq, one begins to wonder if Al Qaeda has moved their primary forces elsewhere...with only a rear guard left near Baghdad.
I am with you -- I am tired of these silly wisecracks that add zero to the thread -- glad to know I am not the only one!
I think everyone here is so appreciative of our great men and women in service. I am from a military family with a husband, children, and many relatives who have served or are serving. I know the seriousness of this. So, my apologies if it seemed inappropriate.
Nothing is funny about the loss of any lives, especially the innocent civilians such as in this case or any of the others that have been lost to the hands of the terrorist and terrorist activities.
I think we are all a bit battle weary, and I know for a fact that these type of jokes (and worse) are even common among our military - on the bases and in the trenches. It does help to lift their spirits and the deep concerns and frustrations we all feel. We are helpless here when we hear these reports. And though we would love to do something, the best we can do is express our disdain. Sometimes we degenerate into silly humor when the news is sparce on these issues, or when the pressure of it all just exhausts our ability to focus on the sadness and horror.
Again, please forgive our insensitivities. And know that we are truly, truly grateful to you, and to moms and dads like you, who have to worry every day if your loved ones will be safe while protecting our country. We love you!!!
That's funny. You must have checked your rights at the door. I get to carry my firearms of choice, plus a drink of my choice, plus smoke a fine cigar when I fly.
Of course, it's my plane. That whole private property thing is pretty cool. Beats public transport all day long.
I love freedom! I recommend it. You should try it sometime.
I was wondering the same thing...has AQ written off Iraq...and moved on.
I'm jealous....:-)
I also have a son in the military. In Japan. Whenever I hear something happening over there I get scared. Both my sons have been all over the world with the Navy and were both at the same port as the Cole a few weeks/months earlier. My oldest was in Ok at the bombing. In Korea during the flare up, and supposed to be on his way home from Spain on 911. If I have ever given the impression that this stuff is a laughing matter, I apologize. Before I even open these threads I'm usually already praying for the victims regardless of nationality. That said, I refuse to let the enemy see me tearing my clothes and wailing. Pay back is coming in this life or the next for them . In my case the laughter and saracasm is towards them and the terrorist lovers who care more about their rights than our lives. I guess for lack of a better term it's "Mash" humor and just a stress valve.
