Another passenger on the train, Anthony Larkin, told BBC News the man had been wearing a "bomb belt with wires coming out".

"I've seen these police officers shouting, 'Get down, get down!', and I've seen this guy who appears to have a bomb belt and wires coming out.

Savage said it best yesterday. If these bombers were in the US, they would have been beaten to death by US civilians. The Brits(Londoners) just stood around(with a stiff upper lip) and did nothing after their bombs fizzled.

If this happened in the suburbs of London, these bombers would have been killed by the Brits. Londoners are a lost liberal cause.

How about this for clear reasons...the guy ignored warnings to stop, he ran from the police, he jumped a turnstile to get to the tube the day after a failed attempt to bomb the tube, a week after a successful attempt to bomb the tube while being one of th suspects for the attempt yesterday.

Pretty brave of the officers! Potentially known BOMB suspect, chase him down, and pile on top of him. Put 5 shots into him hoping the possible switch is not a "dead-man" type. I had no idea the Brits had such folk on the constabulary. SAS and SBS are some of the most formidible troops on the planet, but ya just think of a "Bobby" as kindly with the little hat and truncheon.

Observations:

1. Could be "suicide by cop" designed to hurt law inforcement in the future, especially if known that orders are shoot to kill.

2. The report of 5 shots might include echoes.

Actually I think they gave chase but he evaded them in one of the incidents. In another the witness thought he was a civilian innocent bystander. I would definitely blame that guy for being dumb and for not tackling him when he realized.

Anti-terror cops in the UK are taught Close Quarter Battle tactics (ie what those guys just did) by the SAS. So either way what you are looking at there is standard SAS CQB stuff.
