I still remember the first time I visited England and someone asked me if I could spare a fag. I still don't get that one.

My boyfriend's in the city still at work and says security stepped up outside (he works in one of the tallest buildings)

It's been like that since the first London bombing. This morning I saw a National Guardswoman with a machine gun outside Penn Station.

Just so folks know what I'm talking about regarding Bin Laden's declaration of war, here's an excerpt. (Actually, there are several DOWs or fatwas, this one is from 1996.)

A few days ago the news agencies had reported that the Defence Secretary of the Crusading Americans had said that the explosions at Riyadh and Al-Khobar had taught him one lesson: that is not to withdraw when attacked by cowardly terrorists.

We say to the Defence Secretary that his talk could induce a grieving mother to laughter! And it shows the fears that have enveloped you all. Where was this courage of yours when the explosion in Beirut took place in 1983 CE (1403 A.H). You were transformed into scattered bits and pieces; 241 soldiers were killed, most of them Marines. And where was this courage of yours when two explosions made you to leave Aden in less than twenty-four hours!

But your most disgraceful case was in Somalia; where, after vigorous propaganda about the power of the U.S.A. and its post-cold war leadership of the new world order, you moved tens of thousands of international forces, including twenty-eight thousand American solders, into Somalia. However, when tens of your solders were killed in minor battles and one American pilot was dragged in the streets of Mogadishu, you left the area in disappointment, humiliation, and defeat, carrying your dead with you. Clinton appeared in front of the whole world threatening and promising revenge, but these threats were merely a preparation for withdrawal. You had been disgraced by Allah and you withdrew; the extent of your impotence and weaknesses became very clear. It was a pleasure for the heart of every Muslim and a remedy to the chests of believing nations to see you defeated in the three Islamic cities of Beirut, Aden, and Mogadishu.

I'm probably expressing myself badly. I agree wholeheartedly that the TERRORISTS should be dealt with as harshly as possible. My agreement with Artillery's comment that you can't fight extremism with extremism was merely intended to express that to shout "kill all Muslims" is as extreme as the terrorists screaming "kill all non-Muslims".

Late this morning stepped back up again he says. (I had already gone back home)

I was also at Time Warner building/Mall this morning and all last week there were NYPD vans out front, but not this week. (Im sure it changed since I came home)

Thanks for posting this. It not only illustrates OBL's declaration of war, but it also clealy debunks the silly theory that you cannot fight extremism with extremism.

These "animals" only understand power. Restraint is a weakness. It showes lack of resolve. We cut and ran in Vietnam, Beirut, Aden and Mogadishu....perceived as weakness by OBL.

You cannot make nice with thse folks. They take advantage of nice.

In Israel, this "truce" that currently exists, is called a "hudna" by the Islamonazis. A reprieve that allows them to re-arm and rebuild. There is no truce there..it's a break in hostilities.

The "head in the sand" mentality of the left will get us killed.

I know. I lived in the UK for several years. I still don't get where they came up with the term fag.

Looks like they'll be searching bags in NYC subways:

NYC To Search Subway Riders' Bags

(AP) Police will begin conducting random searches of packages and backpacks carried by people entering city subways, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Thursday after a new series of bomb attacks in London......

I don't consider our actions in WWII to have been extreme. I think we're probably using two definitions of the same word.

Cheers!

Maybe 2 casualties from the bombs, people reportedly chased some terrorists. One may have thrown a bomb into a tube train, been chased by civilians and cops into hospital and arrested. Maybe another arrested. Sounds like dud bombs, none of the bombers managed to die in Jihad for allah (Satin) and mohammad (the false profit).

No one who posts here doesn't think that terrorists should be dealt with as harshly as possible. Unfortunately, we have a contingent insistent on firmly tying the terrorist fringe to mainstream Islam. If Muslims are silent about attacks they are complicit, if they denounce them they are duplicitous liars.

The ironic thing is the likes of Al Qaeda wish they were right. Indeed, bin Laden would be overjoyed if Mecca got nuked. It would be infinitely more valuable to him as a martyr-city, and of course the Saudi government would immediately fall to...quess who?

The jihadists are good at manipulating public opinion; I am simply proposing ways to manipulate public opinion against them and demoralize them. I am very interested in approaches that would psychologically deligitimize suicide attacks, put them on the defensive, create a moral and psychological gap between suicide violence and Islam, and suggest alternate ways of living out their faith. We are always on the defensive from the PR point of view, and have done a lousy job on the psy ops front, a pathetic job, in my opinion. I'm just floating ideas, suggestions, theories, to try to turn that around. They may not work, but I think they are more realistic than bombing Mecca, interning or deporting all Muslims, or some of the other brilliant ideas that have been suggested here.

Is this what is also known as psycho-babble?

I noticed that also. But what I haven't noticed is an increase in uniformed LEO/NG in the subways, at least not on the A,C,E, 4, 5, or 6.

Thanks.

There is only one way to deal with extremist who vow to kill us and destroy our country, and then commit acts of violence to carry out those threats.

That way was mapped out by WWII. You meet that threat head on and in other ways with more firepower than they have.

As my well decorated uncle in WWII said, "Dead Nazis and dead Imperial Japanese thugs were not able to hurt his parents, his sisters and his nephews and nieces."

Should Eric Rudolph's family be sterilized? Tim McVeigh's? How about Kacyznski's?

If/when that fails, it will be the responsibilty of future generations to re-impose a general draft, re-orient the economy towards a war economy, and literally occupy/convert all Muslim lands to secular, democratic societies

If we are not beaten first, you mean.

Fag is short for faggot, which means to bind together as in tobacco bound together in the paper. It's also a weaving technique where a group of threads are tied together to make an open diamond pattern in a cloth.

It came to mean homosexual because, in the interests of economy (and putting on a better show) sometimes when witches were burned at the stake the faggots, or bundles of sticks, that were at the base of the stake contained a sodomite or two.

This was a worse fate that the witch herself received, as the smoke and fumes that rendered the witch unconscious or dead early on were all above them. They got to experience the full spiritual benefit of being burned alive.
