Talk about appearing blindfolded before a kangaroo court. Then again, CBS newsman-turned-author Bernard Goldberg might not have recalled before appearing last night on CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch" that the host was a lead member of the Clinton/Gore communications team in 1992. "I've been doing this a long, long time, and I have never, ever, ever, never -- I could say never and ever 10 more times -- experienced what I just went through," Mr. Goldberg told Inside the Beltway late yesterday after he taped the show, which is to air tonight, from Miami. "Deutsch disagreed with everything, and that is just fine," said Mr. Goldberg, the best-selling author of "Bias" who has written the new book "100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (And Al Franken is No. 37)." "But then, unbeknownst to me, they brought on a panel of five, plus Donny, all of whom took the other side. And it's not like they just respectfully disagreed; there was name-calling, ganging up; it was unbelievable. And not one of them even read the book. They admitted it. "It was more than an ambush," he said. "It was the most cynical, dishonest thing I have ever been lassoed into. They misled me." Immediately after the taping, Mr. Goldberg said, he told the show's producer, Marilyn Cutler, that Mr. Deutsch had been "dishonest." "I told her that she should be ashamed," he said. "A short time later, she called back, crying like a baby. She said, 'I am resigning.' And I told her, 'You should resign.' It was one big setup. And they used her to get me into it. They wanted to kick my [expletive] on national television -- six people, all basically calling me an idiot."

I read the book in two days and now my high school daughter is laughing her way through it. Great read
Thanks for the info. I missed the first few minutes, which is when he must of mentioned the reschedule. I ended up watching the whole show waiting for Mr. Goldberg to come on, which was the only reason I was watching, because I just can't gut the big "O", and don't watch his show. I will not be fooled again!!
Donny Deutsch: A few things come to mind. I was very excited working on the Clinton campaign in '92. It was exciting being a very small part of electing a great president.
Donny Deutsch is Chairman and CEO of Deutsch Inc., one of the top-rated ad agencies in America. After graduating from Wharton with an undergrad in marketing, Deutsch went on to work for his father's agency. In 1984, he took it over, changing the name from David Deutsch Associates to simply Deutsch Inc.
******
I went to work for a large agency, Ogilvy & Mather. My dad started a small boutique ad agency called Dave Deutsch Associates, and I went in with him.
Even though I still run it, I sold it. Being in a service business is a difficult business. I still love it and I still want to continue to do it, but it is one of the reasons I have launched my other businesses, an independent movie studio, my TV program, and I am writing a book.
Goes to show, $$$ can't buy brains, personality or class.
Agreed. I didn't like "Bias" too much either. Nothing really ground breaking besides a jilted MSM liberal finally admitting the bias in the media.
Do you really think your comments are that important to merit a special border?
Hannity talks over his conservative guests as well. He should just shut up. It really makes me mad when he interrupts Laura Ingram and Ann Couldter because they are a lot more interesting than Hannity.
This just goes to show that no matter how much experience you may have with the dying socialist "mainstream" newsrooms and their scumbag Democrat allies, you can never assume that they can't get any lower. There is no bottom to the Democrat toilet. Period. Lesson learned.
they are running this now. this is good, this is the kind of confrontation that should be on these shows - its not scripted at all.
I saw him once on the Apprentice too...what a jerk. How on earth do such borderline retards get shows?
I guess he is a NYC kinda guy - advertising world and junk like that.
Just happened (literally-our satellite system is mostly down and we can only get a few channels) to see this segment. What a bunch of jerks. First time/last time for that show (which I'd never heard of before today).

I'd say we need a 12-step program, but first you have to WANT to change. I don't!
I knew there was a reason I was repulsed by Donny Douche.
I always watch Cramer's Mad Money, and can't clich the channel fast enough when the Douche's face comes on the TV.
Amazingly, I didn't even know until I read this posting that he was a leftist who worked in the Clinton communications dept.
It just goes to show that leftist schmucks have an inate personality that turns people off.
Donny douchbag in der totten
Don't worry Bernie, his ratings cratered long ago. The show is now just something to run between commericals on CNBC.
Dude, I catch him on the trip home every day - have to disagree with you. What you call shouting down, I see as him "heading off at the gap" a pending and mindless liberal KnowNothing spewing of ad hominem assaults.
Sean is a pitbull, only once have I heard him go passive and that was with Sam Donaldson about a year back; Sammy boy would evade questions with a quick riposte along the lines of "but you guys do it, too", and Sean didn't take charge. But shouting down? Nah, Sean just puts 'em in their place, is all... and just before they attempt to seize his show to mount a mini-demonstration of their own - abduction of venue, if you will...
Like the tagline, excellent example of what a prime minister should be...
"if Bernie wants to set out to piss off the liberals then he shouldn't be surprised if they set out to do the same to him."
This new book critiques both liberals and conservatives.
But what is confounding in your statement is that it is now acceptable that if you speak your mind regarding liberalism, it is fine for the media to set up the speaker to be attacked at 6:1 odds. In effect using the proud liberal technique of ignoring reason and shouting the mostest and loudest.
