MSNBC DAN ABRAMS RE: JUDGE ROBERTS: "YOU LOOK AT THE NANNY. YOU LOOK AT WHETHER HE SMOKED POT.
Transcript MSNBCTV Situation w/Tucker Carlson/Dan Abrams ^ | July 20, 2005 | transcript

Posted on 07/20/2005 8:06:21 AM PDT by KE

CARLSON: So, what do we know about what he as a person thinks? I mean, do we—are there any insights into his personal judicial philosophy?

ABRAMS: You know, we know a little bit. We‘ve seen opinions that he‘s written for the past couple of years. But, even on criminal law issues, they haven‘t been uniformly conservative. I mean, I was reading up on one case where a criminal defendant was convicted of fraud. And he joined with a—he joined with an unlikely alliance in that case, which wouldn‘t be the ordinary case. I mean, he took on someone else who‘d been appointed by Bush. So, you don‘t have someone who, I think, has a lot of material to work with.

CARLSON: Well, so what do you—I mean, how do you work with it? I mean, if you‘re NARAL or People For the American Way, how do you try to derail this guy?

ABRAME: YOU LOOK AT THE NANNY. YOU LOOK AT WHETHER HE SMOKED POT.

You go back...

CARLSON: YES, HIRE A PRIVATE DETECTIVE, BASICALLY.

ABRAMS: You go—I mean, it‘s all I can think of. I mean, look, they‘re—they would sit there and they would—they would say, are you kidding me? Did you just say what I just heard you say?

Sure. They‘re going to go through the opinions. They‘re going to go through his positions in the various cases. His position again and again in front of the Judiciary Committee will be, I was an advocate.

He did it before. I mean, you know, we have got it right here. Senator Hatch asked him: “As a lawyer in the solicitor general‘s office, you were duty-bound to represent the official position of the United States, even if it is conflicted with your own personal beliefs, right?”

“Certainly.”

Later in the interview Abrams said: "I think—I think they‘re going to have to find something beyond his legal philosophy."

Just more drastic tactics the Dems might use ! Well, there's no "might use" about it. Dan Abrams suggesting that this is all the dems might have !!!

Roberts has been vetted 3 or 4 times already. FBI background checks, the full cavity search by the federal government.

There is no nannygate (Baird, Woods, Chavez)

There is no pot (Doug Gisberg)

There's nothing. This man makes white bread look wild.

Of course they are Demonrats. I guess that nanny taxes could be made up, old police records made up and planted, the Reichstag burned?

And he joined with a—he joined with an unlikely alliance in that case, which wouldn‘t be the ordinary case.

He was going to say a liberal but realized that wouldn't sound good and so changed it to "an unlikely alliance". LOL

If he never smoked pot, he's out of the mainstream.

Not so fast! Would Roberts be willing to testify that he has never had impure thoughts.

I think this might explain why Schumer looked so pale when he issued his "statement." It's going to be difficult to attack this man.

Remember the left's mantra: Fake, but accurate. It doesnt have to be REAL or truthful. It can be made up. The Rove situation proves that. They have a month or more to make somthing up. Dont tell me its not going to happen.

"YOU LOOK AT THE NANNY."

LOL--A 'Rat would indeed "look at the nanny"--or the intern...

Abrams is proof (as if we needed it) that the media is in bed with the 'Rats in hopes of tripping this President up.

Yes, dear Hubby and I were discussing that this morning. Expect special "documents" from the Dan Rather Document Manufacturing Co. in the future. However, they might have been shredded to protect the source. ;)

"I think this might explain why Schumer looked so pale when he issued his "statement."

He knows he is being sent to fight a losing fight, to the further harm of his party as obstructionists with no ideas. The hardcore left (NOW, MorOn...er, MoveOn, NARAL etc.) are going nuclear with this pick. Thanks to the 'net, they've got hundreds of thousands of misguided souls slamming all of the 'Rats to fight this pick to the death. I'd hate to be a staffer for a 'Rat senator right now....

"...to the death..." I like the sound of that. It might well end up being the death rattle of the 'Rat party in its current incarnation.

YOU LOOK AT THE NANNY

I heard members of some of those feminist groups REALLY love to look at Fran Dresher. But how will that help?
