To continue on the interrogation theme, I read recently after the London bombings, that Egypt uses the drug that is given before one has surgery to get information out of people (I don't remember the name, started with a "P" I think) Apparently your brain wakes up out of this state one section at a time making you helpless and will therefore, answer anything truthfully. Aruba could use some of it for sure.
Unfortunately this case was already cold when they arrested the 3 liars and has gone downhill from there.

B/c it was an ice cold case when LE turned the liars loose in the beginning.
And people who ONLY want politics on the news are a little one-sided. My opinion of stories like these is that the world is now our Town Square. Beth is One of Us, could be any of us. Or Natalee could be any of us at 18. We DO care about our fellow humans and we crave justice. We follow the story because we care about real individuals in trouble.
Thanks for the head's up. I really want to see justice served for poor Chandra and her family. I am guessing DISH will have that at 6:30 here so I need to TIVO.

Am I the only one who thinks this hair has passed a preliminary test in Aruba?? I know I jokingly posted last night that Gil Grissom will do a microscope hair check for a visual similarity before they even get to DNA (and possibly even be able to find on the perp's head the other half of the hair strand from the crime scene), but let's face it, why would these hairs be garnering all this testing unless they at least pass muster under a scope compared to the hairbrush hairs??
However, we all know that any calls made by Natalee while she was in stress that night are forbidden, probably by the Holloways/Twittys' lawyers, to be discussed publicly, so I am assuming that they had those tapes analyzed professionally too. The question is, would Aruban law even allow into evidence such expert witnesses who say that "this voice belongs to Natalee" and "This background garble has the exact sound patterns as Joran van der Sloot's voice"?
This case makes me really rethink staying in other countries unless you know their legal system. I know Mexico's and I am not going there.

I think you are going to wish you hadn't asked but the answer to your question is "sometimes."
As you probably know, a biological cell is needed for DNA typing and the body excretes thousands of cells from the walls of the intestines in fecal matter. The problem is separating these cells from the, er, contaminants and of course finding the human cells among all the other, er, material present.
I am sure a real expert could tell you more, but I stayed at the Aruba Holiday Inn Express last night and feel that qualifies me to give you a layman's POV on this matter.
Once Greta left CNN and went to FOX, she straightened out! Course I NEVER watched her on CNN :)

Greta did standups for (I think) CNN during the William Kennedy-Smith rape trial. At the time she weighed at least double what she does now. By the time OJ rolled around she had become healthy.
