Obviously, speculation here...but I think a very real possibility.
This grieves me much. After having seen the video clips on t.v. of her high school dance/flag twirling performances, she looks like a very nice, sweet, innocent girl. Then you match those clips up with the pictures I've seen of the sleaze balls (male and female) hanging around C&C's, all the sleaze partying, lude dancing, binge drinking--and I can't help but wonder how in the world such a young, sweet, innocent-looking (supposed) Christian teenager could find herself right in the middle of such a sleazy joint mix.
Jossy has his reasons for wanting Joran nailed and this whole thing to go away.
You nailed it. Absolutely.
You mean to protect his "interests"?
Sorry too, lets smoke the peace pipe and let it go.
I guess I think the media interest is more pecuniary than racists. They cover what gets viewers. The US is mostly white and that affects the numbers. Beautiful white girls get covered especially if they have go to the mat parents who bring the coverage with them. I don't see that as racist.
but I do acknowledge that you were not calling us racist and apologise for saying that.
Wasn't he the one who made the statement early on (several weeks into the disappearance?) that Natalee was spotted in a car on the island or in Venezuela...a car that was being tracked/followed? I'm real sketchy on details about this, but it seems to me that Jossy has made "breaking news" appearances in this case that have not panned out. Flame away if I'm off track here.
Can you summarize the general gist of the Shango postings. Thanks.
Jossy Mansur reported that Joran had made a confession. BUT he had to retract it, since Aruban LE denied it.
Keep in mind, that El Dario, the island newspaper is Jossys. He has many investigative reporters and probably detectives working on the case AND he doesn't care for Joran.
Jossy has his credibility at Stake. I am confident he wants to redeem himself and has his "sources" all over the Island. He's one of the good guys..maybe the ONLY one..LOL.
Cajun-girl, you are one class act! That's why I like you...regards, sw
From Riehl and this kind of information is out there including on the first threads on Nat. You might want to rethink Jossy as one of the "good guys",,Jossy wants this gone and if getting Joran makes it gone, that is fine by him. But Jossy is no knight in shining armor.
It's all making sense...
Jossy Mansur is the owner and chief editor of the biggest newspaper on the island, "Diario". ""When I read an article in Diario, I know what will be the next action of the government","says Hendrik Croes, adding that the Mansurs create a climate of fear and intimidation on Aruba. Their newspapers force others off the market. Furthermore, ""their annual income is bigger than the yearly budget of the government. And you may guess how they make that kind of money."""Jossy Mansur is not impressed claiming that accusing people of drug trafficking and money laundering ""has become a political tool to discredit them." (75) Jossy Mansur acts as the family's mouthpiece, Ruben and the elder Alex are the patriarchs, and Elias 'Don' Mansur is the family's whizz-kid. Elias graduated at Notre Dame University, and was Minister of Economic Affairs in Eman's first cabinet. As representative for the Free Trade Zone entrepreneurs in a mixed Dutch-Aruban commission he has to recommend measures to tighten regulations in the FTZ to prevent money laundering and contraband, together with Dutch government officials. (76)
More and more the name Mansur turns up in money laundering cases. Alex and Eric Mansur were indicted in Puerto Rico in August 1994. (77) President Clinton specifically mentioned the Mansur's when he put Aruba on the list of Major Illicit Drug-transit Countries in December 1996. Although no member of the family was actually indicted in the La Costa case, the name Mansur is frequently is found in the files which were seized at Habibe's home on Aruba.

Thanks.
But he also is a good family man, and his Grandchildren go to the same private school Joran attended.
Way back, he described Joran as a sort of Jekyll and Hyde. (Not in those words)..
And yes, I agree with you. Mansur wants this case to "go away"..for whatever reason.
The witness came forth about 3 weeks ago..long before the reward money was offered. So what do you think about the witness? Real or hoax?
