Some in GOP fear more revelations, and hope naming a court nominee will overshadow case.
WASHINGTON If Karl Rove was source No. 2, who was source No. 1? Rove, President Bush's top political advisor, has survived a bruising week of controversy over his role in the unmasking of a CIA officer. But White House officials and their Republican allies acknowledge that they may face more revelations in the weeks and months to come.

Yes she was, as far as the CIA was concerned.
See post# 119
So it appears the investigation is valid for this reason alone.
But nothing implicates Rove in any outing of Plame, the MSM&D are just trying to nail Bush on ANYTHING!
LOL - he was a real work of art, wasn't he? Just like Carter. Thank G-d for the Internet - it's power will be proven if Hillary can't get out of the primaries.
the name is CORN and he works at the NATION and he's likely the Deep Throat in this little tempest.
"There have been a series of leaks coming out of CIA intended to wound Bush and obstruct the war. The Wilson/Plame case just allows us a chance to catch some of them red-handed."
This has been my theory for the past week or so. The Porter Goss purge of the CIA was an acknowledgement that there were, and probably still are, old bureaucrats with democrat sympathies who are more interested in party politics than in doing their jobs of protecting the nation. Like most Washington lifers, Wilson and Plame have many journalist friends with like views and frequent social contact. Many have said that all of Plames friends and neighbors knew she worked at the agency and I have no doubt Judy Miller sought her out as a source for WMD articles more than once.
Yup. Judy Miller's sitting in jail because she doesn't want to reveal that she knew about Plame's employment from Plame herself.
If anybody deserves indictment here, it's Plame and her husband Wilson for conspiracy to harm national security via disinformation for political purposes.
I still believe that the special prosecutor might be checking into whether or not Wilson and his wife tried to dupe the CIA and/or the govt. by hatching a plot to discredit President Bush with a phony yellowcake report.
I don't believe that was the declared mission of the special prosecutor, but to me, THAT is the far more aggregious crime, if any were committed.
I'm confused. What criminal referral is he referring to? Who instigated it?
And what were the results?
I smell a setup! Back in 2003 Schumer/Wilson were suggesting Rove was the leak...
This is the old game, and Bush is winning every time. Do you guys remember the report about Bush telling Daschle if he ever lied to him or something to that effect Bush would take him down politically?
...And where's Daschle now????????
'"There are other shoes to drop here," warned an advisor to the GOP leadership in Congress, who insisted on anonymity in order to speak freely. "There are people who haven't come out yet. There could be indictments. And that would cast an entirely different shadow on the matter."'
He writes this as if this possibility is a BAD thing for the GOP...
we all seem to think that this is foreshadowing Dems in Dutch.
The CIA because Plame was outed...Wilson was pissed because he stated that Bush lied about Niger/Yellowcake and the next thing you know Novack is revealing Plame as CIA covert agent!
Now my questions are:
Why is Novack clear?
Why is Judith Miller protecting her source?

The answer that Wilson had when he returned from Nigera is more of a concern than the "outing" of his wife. I looks like someone gave him info that he had no way of knowing without help.
IMHO I think they are looking for serious (series) CIA leaks.
It would not surprise any of us here!
I'm right now looking into a Wilson/Schumer set up. In 2003 when this first was, excuse the pun, "Uncovered" that Plame was outed, the first person Wilson/Schumer suggested be investigated was Rove.
This story goes away if Miller names her source...Is she still being paid while sitting in jail?
MEET THE PRESS
Russert shows TIME cover. Cooper says the first time he knew about Plame was from Rove. (very damaging if true, just as damaging if Fitzgerald believes it is true.)
Cooper says there may be other government sources than Libby and Rove who told him about Valerie Plame.
Russert replays Cooper's announcement without showing Cooper's dramatic, deceptive reason why he could now testify. Cooper goes into a long-winded response, but does not mention or apologize for his drama queen performance.
Russert asks a tough question: "you mentioned "other governement sources". "Did you get special confidentiality waivers from them"? Cooper refuses to respond.
Too bad, but predictable, Russert moves on to long term effect on TIME for revealing sources and documentation.
Spector's hearing on The Shield Law this week will take on new significance because Cooper is testifying. EXPECT THE DEMOCRATS TO TURN IT INTO A BASH ROVE PHOTO OP.
Cooper asked his biggest regret. He calls all this "A War On Wilson"
I agree that could be the case, but the fact remains, according to the CIA statement, Plame was a covert agent at the time of her outing...
Does anyone know how long they can keep Miller in jail if she never talks?
I don't know about that, but see post #119
