Oh yes and the YP has been in the crosshairs for days. Clueless would be the best description.

Then I guess they deserve to receive they're ZOT if they left yesterday.

You'd think the ticket agents would have said something to them as they picked up their boarding passes.

Compass. Yeah, I suppose it does resemble a compass...

*feeling kinda silly for asking*

If you were flying from the United States, what IS the last thing you do before you go out the door?

The last thing I do is to make sure I have my passport and copy of the itinerary. Weather is reviewed while packing--which occurs about 45 minutes before leaving.

The problem is that many of the resort areas do not allow for last minute cancellations without major penalty. Key West is well known for this. Thus, travel insurance is a good idea for the dream vacations.

I was watching an interview on TWC. An employee was talking about how his hotel a designated shelter and that all guests will stay in the ball room with "full" amenities. He made it sound like fun!:')

bad timing...it's been down for awhile now. I may have grabbed the last image above before it seized up.

I saw that interview. They had a buffet and a movie playing. Power still on and computers are up.

CD, I read on News 5's website that the island evacuation was canceled yesterday, but the deadline for resident permits ended today. We were out this evening in Harlingen. Only saw a few homes boarded up. Seems like most aren't taking Emily seriously...yet.

There are only a few here too. They will go up fast if things change. The next two days are going to be very busy at work so we had to do what we can this weekend.

Boarding up too early is terrible because the house is awfully dark. Better to have everything else ready, then board up at the start of the warning period.

That's what I meant about spooky. All of the sudden it got dark. My husband and I both work in health care and depending on direction I don't know if we could get off early to board up. We'll just have to suffer:')

Kept the boards up here for about 4 weeks last year. Positively depressing in a dark home, but way too much work putting them up and taking them down for all those storms.

Definitely not good--Cozumel taking the full storm surge--highest point on the island is 45 ft.
