Boarding up too early is terrible because the house is awfully dark. Better to have everything else ready, then board up at the start of the warning period.

That's what I meant about spooky. All of the sudden it got dark. My husband and I both work in health care and depending on direction I don't know if we could get off early to board up. We'll just have to suffer:')

We've left 3 windows uncovered for now. Plus with handholds cut into the wood it gives a bit of sunlight. Storm doors on the exterior doors let light in, too. The dark bedroom is great for sleeping, though. Tonight I was thinking I needed to pull the shades down for privacy. Duh...lol.
