Gingersnaps, I think part of the reason you are uncomfortable with some of the theories on this thread might be the result of not combing and sifting the evidence. The people you are interacting with currently strike me as very level-headed and even experienced in some of the aspects of this case. I don't know any people on this thread who are taking quatum leaps or buying into the many rumors on Scared Monkeys and Riehl World (there may be some, but no one of note).

Believe it or not, there is a mountain of evidence on this case. Huge amounts of film footage from the very beginning. While a lot of this evidence may not be admissable in court, he has given us a birdseye view of the case and of the people involved...particular the van der Sloot family.

I may wrong, I think you are drawing conclusions that are not merited. You seem to be grounded (maybe even stuck) in one factor and that is the fact that you are a mother of a boy about the same age as Joren. All your points seem to be a function of that. Study the evidence carefully and let go of the mother's perspective and see if your point of view doesn't change.

Not promoting the behavior, but when I was 17 and the drinking age was 18 in NY (as it is in Aruba), I spent a great deal of my free time drinking and hanging out at bars.

That's an excellent question. On FOX they are reporting that the duct tape'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">duct tape was found as a result of a tip. We also are hearing that it was discovered during a routine cleaning of the park. If the latter is true and this is evidence in the case who knows how much was lost during these clean-ups. Maybe a lot, maybe none. Just one more disturbing possibility.

I was not saying that what you were writing was false I said that RW was posting false info. I have answered saying that her leaving with Depak was highly unlikely and totally out of character. MB student Country Moom replied:DT all that RW has posted is false things about Natalee and her character. You can not possibly think that anyone going on false info is going to come to truth! She was not a drug addict, a sexaholic, or a drug smuggler, as I have seen that posted on RW. RW has posted many many false reports that have had to be retracted. Atleast on Scared Monkeys they research the news before posting. This may not be CNN here, but atleast its not the National Enquirer like RW.

But at the same time, until now, I had yet to hear a student who was there that night say it was false. I knew you were from MB, but wasn't sure you were at the club that night or that you saw Natalee. Thanks for your answer though.

I do not know how many debated myself, Justin T, and MBHS05 have gotten into with people who are throwing out rumor and trying to dress it up as fact. That does not help get Natalee back!!

People werent hooking up with natives in Aruba. I know of two girls who got drunk and kissed (ONLY KISSED!) two Arubans but that was on a completely different night and Natalee was not one of them. She didn't even hang out with the two girls who did it. The trip wasn't about sex, or really even about drinking, it was about going to a beautiful place and relaxing because we all worked our butts off this year and were faced with many tragedies this year (even before Natalee) and we just needed to unwind. I guess we let our gaurd down, but we felt like we were in a safe place. (Namely, because we were.) None of us "let" this happen, it just happened. I really wish people would quit blaming us... we feel bad enough already.

I agree with you. I'm sure the slave trade still exists in the carribean, I just don't think a 17 year old is involved. Dealing with a 17 year old is too much of a risk for those guys.

I too believe that she died while he was with her. She could have simply drowned on her own while swimming at night, or he could have caused her death.

There is nothing he can say that will be believed or even make him look like a good guy. As bad as it sounds, "no body - no crime" is reality, even in the US. The best thing for him to do is stay quiet, because there is no evidence he did anything.

Still, I haven't yet seen evidence that that has corrupted the Dutch justice system. If anything, the Dutch system as practiced in Aruba is far, far tougher on potential suspects than we are here in America.

It may or may not be "tougher" on suspects, but it apparently is poor at getting evidence, justice and convictions or the ALE are incompetent or corrupt, which one remains to be seen.

Our American authorities could probably NOT have held any of the suspects jailed so far, for more than a day two, with an apparent lack of evidence that a crime had even been committed. AND, in America we would have to have provided each suspect with a lawyer during interrogation. AND, I doubt any American judge would have signed a warrant for searches of their property, phone records, etc.

Well your pal Mark Fuhrman disagreed yesterday on Geraldo, stating how easy it would have been for US cops to get a search warrant and seize clothing and evidence from the suspects the first night based on their false stories. He said the ALE blew it. Did you know Joran at first denied knowing Natalee until confronted with the fact that he was seen leaving C&C with her? As for you not having a benevolent attitude towards the 3 suspects, you have stated you "don't think they murdered Natalee, nor know of her ultimate fate." I think that is pretty benevolent considering what we know.

As far as Beth apologizing, it was to the people of Aruba, not the Kalpoe's and in fact she has recently reiterated she thought what they did was wrong and obstructed justice with their lying....

I wondered where you were. I thought perhaps on vacation.

Saturday Joran was taken back to a couple of different places on the island.

Yesterday there was duct tape found that has four long strands of hair (reported original color of strands of hair are redish, but bleached blond)which washed up on the beach area approximately a mile from Boca Prins assumed temporary grave site.

Equusearch is back in Texas at the present and some of their members are scheduled to return to Aruba this coming Thursday I believe.
