Sooooo its perfectly ok, because one is a teenager and a "chick-magnet" to REFUSE to tell the truth about what happened to a girl in light of the fact he was the last known person to be with her?
So if your son was the last person to be with a "chick" and she is suddenly never heard from again, than he is what a VICTIM?
So teens of today are known to not have parental guidance and love and so therefore all these stories about drunken drugged "chick-magnets" is perfectly normal?
OUCH!! I pray that parents do not think this is perfectly okay otherwise I dread to see the next generation.

someone knows how to find Greta's interview transcript of Croes....it was posted before but lacked specificity and detail re the phone call we were on about at the time.....I recall that most of his responses to Greta's questions were very much like an expert witness very accustomed to testifying in court.

As with so much about this case, not sure if this is true or not, but I know I've read that Deepak's car was washed in the early morning hours of May 30th. Perhaps the Mom's remarks were made to give cover for the odd early car washing.

Might not be odd for him. He seems to have a job where he gets out of work kind of late. IIFC Sloot was waiting on Deepak to get out of work for a ride to C&C's.
Lots of people have jobs where they get out late and they do their 'chores' after work or before going to bed so that when they do go to sleep they can sleep in a bit.
Some things can't be done late night/early morning but some things like washing a car, can.

Gingersnaps, why would you presume that someone who is a professonal (albeit in a fluff field) couldn't develop a measured theory that might be correct. I would hope a professional in the fluffy little field of human behavior might see this case with greater clarity, depth, and dimension than the man in the street.
I won't go into it here because the evidence in this thread his too great to discuss...but there is much that does point to the possibility that Joren has sociopathic tendencies.
And I've got news for you, a lot of teenage boys have sociopathic tendencies when wrestling with their hormones. That's why teenage girls get pregnant. Thinking with Little Willie instead of listening to that weak, almost non-existent voice of conscience.
The development of theories that Joren might be a sociopath or might be a killer is not meant as attack on your son...

I remember from watching the interview live that he said that he initially received a call "from a MAJOR friend in the US" pertaining to a previous call possibly originating from aruba......but this statement was edited out in the transcript......I have wondered and wondered and wondered "who is this "major" friend of Croes in the US and why did he describe him/her as such?

The fact that my son's a chick-magnet is something over which I have no control. God bless him, he's a hunk, at least to teen-aged girls' eyes. I see girls throwing themselves at him, literally.
What that says about me and the amount of "parental guidance and love" I've given him is... precisely nothing.
My post was addressed to Gary and was in response to a specific topic he brought up in a reply to me, i.e. the ability to diagnose sociopathy from afar.
Our assumption that Joran is lying (an assumption I think we all agree on) doesn't necessarily lead to the conclusion that he's a sociopath. IMHO. If it were, then all of us would be in danger of being labeled sociopaths.
I don't know why exactly he's lying, none of us do. But I can imagine all kinds of scenarios that might explain it.

Concerning the possible black eye statements by school friends of Juran: From what was said on Greta's show, there appears to be some FEAR of coming forward with information that would be considered negative towards Juran.
This is understandable considering the Mom of Juran is a teacher at the school and also the Dad's connections with those in powerful places.

I have wondered and wondered the same thing. Croes seems to be the first eyes and ears on the ground in Aruba, the guy the Twitty's first met up with, was driving around with some unnamed kid and was the first (I think) to identify Joran with a physical description of him and the car. He's a mystery to me.
I also thought he was first contacted because the call originated from one of his phones. Why would they call him about a message in the US?

Yes, there are some psychologists out there whose opinions are worth our time of day. (Though the field IS rife with incompetents IMO.)
However, my main point was that I don't think anyone, including licensed psychologists, can diagnose sociopathy from afar, based on a few photos and a lot of anonymously sourced garbage.

I really see what a backward people they are indeed.
Just a thought - enough has been said on TV on their lack of experience in handling criminal cases. So, therefore, that covers any or all errors. I have never handled a criminal case and most on here hasn't. What we don't see being used is plain common sense - we aren't debating technical skills. For example, wouldn't it be common sense NOT to wait 10 days until arresting Joran and searching homes, cars, etc. I believe they waited - as a favor - until Joran was finished school and his test. His graduation day was the day they arrested him. By this time, all evidence and perhaps Natalee was gone. They don't need 10 or 1,000 murder/kidnapping crimes a year to have common sense.
The parents got there immediately and led the police to Joran and already did some of their investigation for them. Beth said they gave them all the information they have.
I don't see it as backwards. I see it as common sense wasn't used for favor reasons and some on TV are covering for Aruba's sins saying because of the low crime rate they lacked the knowledge in handling such cases. So, basically, Aruba gets off with Two pluses - their island is paradise because of low crime rates (nice promo) and 'their favor' is being interrupted as lack of knowledge. So these, supposedly unknowledgeable people, have no problem with being uncooperative w/FBI, etc.

I know that he and Beth listened to "a" message "3 times", but is it in fact the call he referenced as being from his "major" friend? Was he really chasing a call that was noticed to have gone out, rather than one that was incoming to the US?
Who is Croes? And how did he become involved in this case? How was he brought in and why? I guess I don't understand his role in all this.
And, is Josey playing our American media?
