The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
Terrorists could be just getting started
Full Story

New York City and Washington. Bali, Indonesia; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Istanbul, Turkey; Madrid, Spain. And now London.

When will it end? Where will it all lead?

The experts aren't encouraged. One terrorism researcher sees the prospect of "endless" war. Adds the man who tracked Osama bin Laden for the CIA, "I don't think it's even started yet."

as there are less people in the city after 6p.m.

The other side of that coin is that many people go into the city at nighttime for dancing, drinking, Broadway plays, movies, etc., especially on a Friday night.

Also, some of the earlier threats noted on this thread have mentioned an attack at night...

Thanks, Slowboat.

I must say, it's frustrating to be without TM for 2 weeks.

We did have TV, but I knew that I'd only know the truth of the goings on when I returned to TM.

How are things by you?

I think going into Afganastan was the right thing to do. I dont think we did it right though . . .

I agree with you. Insurgents have stepped up their efforts in Afghanistan recently. Vigorous suppression is required - pronto or we're back to square #1.

Los Alamos Radiological Contamination Tracked

LOS ALAMOS — Investigators are trying to determine whether a Los Alamos National Laboratory worker exposed to radioactive material spread it out of state.

"We're monitoring everywhere he tells us he went,'' said Kathy DeLucas, a lab spokeswoman.

The employee was exposed to americium 241 while working at the lab, and the contamination was detected July 25 on his skin and personal clothing, lab officials have said.

A survey by a decontamination team also detected trace amounts of americium 241 in the worker's car and trace amounts inside his home.

Investigators are trying to figure out when and how the worker was exposed, DeLucas said. (snip)

MensNewsDaily.com: "AMERICA - CHAMPION FOR PEACE"
Commentary by Michael P. Tremoglie (August 2, 2005)

COMMENTARY SNIPPET: "The "peace" protesters will say that Japan was close to surrendering and we did not have to use the bomb. This is not true. If Japan were close to surrendering, why did they not do so even after Hiroshima - another bomb had to be used. If anything, this indicates the fanaticism of the Japanese Empire of the Sun.

These "protestors" will never tell you that more civilians were killed during the Battle of Berlin between the USSR and the Nazis, than were killed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. Therefore, in this sense, the bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki probably saved lives.

None of these pertinent facts will be mentioned because those who lead the campaign for peace are not concerned about peace. They are concerned about obtaining political and economic control of the United States."

I know what you mean about being away from TM. I was on an island off South Carolina on 7/7 and couldn't even get Fox News, just CNN! I felt blind and deaf.

I've been following the latest alarums, and waking up at 3:00 in the morning lately. I think I'm starting to keep the same hours as Cindy (whom I now have to ping, since I mentioned her).

I have no doubt about the evil intentions of the Mullahs of Iran but please be advised that Iran Focus is the propaganda machine of a terrorist network called MEK with a dark history.

Thanks!

Oh, boo-hoo.

Isn't it interesting to note that the bombings by MUSLIM terrorists aren't considered "religious hatred"?

Treasury Designates Three Individuals Linked to Al Qaida Terror
Cell in Italy

The U.S. Department of the Treasury today designated three individuals residing in Italy pursuant to Executive Order 13224 for providing financial and/or material support to the Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group, a group tied to al Qaida.

"Today's action targets individuals operating an al Qaida-linked terrorist cell in Italy that recruited combatants, raised funds for terrorist activities and even planned terrorist attacks," said Stuart Levey, the Treasury's Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence (TFI). "We will continue to stand with Italy and our other allies around the world to attack the financing of terrorism."

Ahmed El Bouhali, Faycal Boughanemi and Abdelkader Laagoub are members of a fundamentalist Islamic terrorist organization established in Cremona, Italy in 1998 with the aim of committing terrorist attacks in Italy and other countries, including Morocco and Tunisia.

Information available to the U.S. Government shows the Cremona organization has contacts with al Qaida and Ansar Al Islam cells operating in Italy and abroad. Additionally, the group has ties to the extremist organization, Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group, which was designated by the United States on November 22, 2002 under E.O. 13224.

Mourad Trabelsi and Noureddine Drissi are members of the Cremona terrorist cell and have been designated by the United States. Notably Trabelsi headed the group until April 2003, when both he and Drissi were arrested.

Investigations by Italian authorities have produced evidence that the Cremona terrorist organization recruited volunteers for paramilitary training, collected funds for terrorism, and planned terrorist attacks.

Identifying Information

Ahmed El Bouhali
AKA: El Bouhali
DOB: 31 May 1963
POB: Sidi Kacem, Morocco
Nationality: Moroccan
Address: vicolo S. Rocco, n. 10 – Casalbuttano
Cremona – Italy

El Bouhali was investigated and prosecuted by Italian authorities for participating in a criminal conspiracy to commit terrorist activities. El Bouhali formed the Cremona cell in 1998 and headed it until summer 2001, together with Mourad Trabelsi and Abdelkader Laagoub.

Italian investigators confiscated instruction manuals on paramilitary activities belonging to El Bouhali, which included information on constructing weapons, bombs and instruments for detecting government communications. In addition, leaflets on clandestine Islamic organizations and videotapes containing Bin Laden's and other terrorist leaders' messages inciting violence were found. These materials were used by El Bouhali to recruit people for terrorist activities in Iraq.

Faycal Boughanemi
AKA: Faical Boughanemi
DOB: 28 October 1966
POB: Tunis, Tunisia
Nationality: Tunisian
Address: viale Cambonino, 5/B
Cremona – Italy

Boughanemi was investigated and prosecuted by Italian authorities for participating in a criminal conspiracy to commit terrorist activities; he is in Italian custody. He was a member of the Cremona cell from minimally 2002 – 2004.

Bouganemi helped to plan and recruit individuals for terrorist attacks in Tunisia. In addition, he conspired to carry out terrorist attacks in Italy, namely in Cremona's Cathedral and Milan's Underground, in response to "Italy's foreign policy."

In addition, Boughanemi provided legal assistance to Trabelsi Mourad and his family.

Abdelkader Laagoub
DOB: 23 April 1966
POB: Casablanca, Morocco
Nationality: Moroccan
Address: via Europe, 4 – Paderno Ponchielli
Cremona – Italy

Laagoub was investigated and prosecuted by Italian authorities for participating in a criminal conspiracy to commit terrorist activities; he is in Italian custody. Laagoub helped form the Cremona cell in 1998, and headed it until February 2004, together with El Bouhali and Trabelsi Mourad.

I think their hatred is the baseline measurement for the stats, since it has been a constant for 1426 years.

"Blast hits BA, BP offices in Iran"

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 Posted: 0802 GMT (1602 HKT)

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- An explosive device has detonated in a building housing offices for British Airways and oil company BP, breaking some windows and causing other damage, representatives of the companies said.

No casualties were reported.

The device exploded around 9:30 a.m. (0500 GMT) in a garbage bin on the 10th floor near the British Airways office.

One witness told Reuters the blast was caused by a bomb hidden in a rubbish bin in the hallway of a large tower block on the floor shared by the two companies and car giant DaimlerChrysler.

"It was at 9.15 a.m. (0445 GMT) outside the BA and BP office, there were no casualties but the building was damaged," said the witness who works in one of the offices."
