No, just see a common theme in your posts and care not for your holier than thou stuff.

Reread your post to Gary and say someone else is "holier than thou". Dude, you have the franchise on holier than thou.

Yeah, defending an entire country from a silly rant is so selfish and holier than thou! LOL

but cheered BHT on when she made remarks that even she now regrets.

I can't imagine that she really regrets saying them. There is nothing to regret! She might regret that everyone took it aimed at them, instead of the few people that should have taken it to heart.

You would think, with all the spotlight, that some of the classmates would have talked. Joran had a short fuse, surely there is some evidence of that.

I'm about to head outside but I agree, there is a strange silence about Joran. It's always been my guess that there is personal price for "speaking out of school" in Aruba. We only have to look back at the security guard for a glimpse of the underlying social issues.

Another thing that has troubled me is the sort of disconnect between Croes and Beth's descriptions of Joran on the first night. It could be that while on his own terms (describing Natalee as drunk, drugging, sexually aggressive, etc.) he displays appropriate reactions. When challenged though, as Beth did, his behavior seemed to change. That too could offer a glimpse of what happened with Natalee.

I'd expect him to tell the truth, not hide behind a good lawyer, and that I'd love him no matter what.

What a great story, and a really good point.
It takes more love, REAL love, to stand by your child doing the right thing.

He's one lucky fella, your son.

"And supposedly he "aced his exams"! Wonder what the truth really is?"

I read on one of posts last week that there never were exams given. Who knows what to believe?

I wonder what his parents were thinking, letting him live in an attached apartment. They were not keeping an eye on him like they should have. I sort of blame the father for this. All of this happened while his mother was away.

You know, I think that is probably very true. IF the man cares at all about the women in his life.

Remember the guy who was arrested speaking out and now he is being threatened with re-arrest for talking.

I think there is a penalty.

You're crazy if you think that little island doesn't care about the tourists. Something like this happens in the US commonly and everywhere in the world.

Corrrection, Aruba cares about the tourists' money. I have traveled extensively in the world, and we have a second home in Russia. You don't see the Russians stonewall investigations like we have seen in Aruba.

I know you won't listen to what I'm saying and you will likely go on a "I don't know the facts" rant, but so far you have nothing but emotion to base your silly comments about Aruba on, and a lot of internet rumors and FoxNews hype. Thereis NO body and thus a difficult case.

I see you have the same silly mentality, "If there is no body, there is no crime." Are you certain your name is not John Merryweather? The facts are a beautiful young lady is missing and likely murdered. The island police and officials have obstructed the investigation from the get go. They are the problem, not the Aruban people.

Honestly, BHT was open to libel there and don't think for a moment those lawyers didn't scare some sense into her and her team. She made statements that required PROOF, not emotion. She also alienated good people who have supported her in Aruba. It's a good thing she realized she was speaking out of frustration and recanted for the most part. We have crimes like that here in the US on occasion, tourists who come and get mugged in the city, killed, etc. I know we would not like it if a family member of a victim came in from elsewhere and ragged on our country and its system, whether justified or not (yes, her comments were mostly directed at the released boys, but implied that they were getting away with it by the authorities and demanded other countries back her up - that's just too much). That's just human nature and common sense everywhere in the world, not just Aruba or here.

Check daddy's checkbook or ATM withdrawals... all this "help" must be rough on the ol' bank account.

oh brother! Under who's law was she open to libel? Dutch law? Are you certain they even have libel? Or is that our concept? Don't bother responding, you're more like an annoying fly with your comments and put downs to other posters! Shoo!

LOL

I like your post and I like your tone.

I personally think Beth would stand out in a hurricane and eat doo doo if she thought it would bring her daughter home.

The Arubans on the radio after her statement were gloating. They were unbelievable. She made that statement to get a shred of help from anyone.

The Kalpoes lied, lied again and helped obstruct justice. They know more than we know. Nobody is saying what they finally said to he cops. But I don't think lawsuits are concerning Beth Twitty. Nor should they.

Aruba cares about the tourists' money

Exactly - agreed. That's how it works, there and everywhere. Motivation to NOT as a practice allow murders to go unsolved and as you say, encourage routine raping and pillaging of the tourists. Every tourist spot has seedy elements, been to Vegas lately? The key is to stay away from them. There may well be some people hiding things here, but to say the whole country and all its government is in on it is silly. They hate the bad PR they are getting and would love to hang a crime on someone with proof.

As far as you mocking my "no body" comment, ever heard of Scott Peterson. How long was he free and do you remember when the case opened up? Yup, when they found the bodies. No conspiracy there, though I'm sure some could have claimed that as you do now.

Sorry, hit and run posts don't work with me. If you don't want a response, don't address me. I know it's hard to voice some alternative thought here from the "bomb Aruba" gang, but deal with it. It's an open forum and my points were sound. You're free not to agree, but I'm not going anywhere unless and until I choose.

You sound just like the type of juror defense lawyers love to have on a jury.
