I sincerely doubt this attack can be linked with the per chance fact that they got the Olympics in 2012. More likely it was related to G-8, or my favorite theory, it was just chosen as an easy to remember date. If you were to get a crew of ignorant individuals to jump on busses and blow themselves up wouldn't you choose an easy date to remember? The time? Oh, Rushhour. 7-7, 8:50. The target, UK, not G8, not Olympics, just downtown London much like Madrid or NYC.

This almost certainly has nothing to do with the Olympics -- an operation with this level of sophistication had to have been planned a long time in advance.

I think that the G8 meeting has more to do with it, too much planning involved.
