Several bloggers have drawn attention to a strange lead in a Washington Post story about the Terri Schiavo autopsy results. The June 16 Post story by David Brown said that "Terri Schiavo died of the effects of a profound and prolonged lack of oxygen to her brain on a day in 1990, but what caused that event isn't known and may never be, the physician who performed her autopsy said…"

And as the report points out, there was no reason for Michael to call the Schindlers until after Terri was dead, if that's what he wanted. It just doesn't make sense to try to kill someone and then save them; he could have gone to bed and left her there and no one would have known. But as I said, we'll never know and the rest is pure speculation[no matter what others might think}. And that is something I don't wish to waste my time on and I'm sure you don't either. Have a good one.
Michael may have been a jerk, Terri may have been insecure; a bad combination and almost guaranteed to cause stress. Perhaps it just built up with Terri, but we'll never know.

You're preaching to the choir. I've stated the same facts to posters many times, as we all have. However I forgot about what MS did to his own parents. Starvation and dehydration is a peaceful way to die? Suuuure it is. Try going without food and water for say 12 hours, and tell me how good it feels. I wouldn't be able to do it.
How to teach the Carotid chokehold?
I've discussed the chokehold with BOUNCER at the AR forum before, we both agree it's one of the better incapacitation methods. Recently I've switched from a 'drug orientated' nightclub to a legit nightclub, the other doorman would like to know how to apply carotid chokeholdMy colleague's have attempted it on patrons, but after all the explaination and demonstration i give them, they still haven't been able to put someone to sleep. I have since told them not to apply it, does anyone have any tips?
I wanted to implement the carotid chokehold as the primary (if not only way) to eject a violent patron(s). I believe that innocent bystander patrons would be more apt to respect a controlled martial arts hold, than some thugged-out bouncer punching them into compliance.
Do you think the Carotid Chokehold is of good use in a nightclub? How can I teach the other doorman how to do it effectively? Do you think it should be used before striking?

Admittedly, one bouncer beat him while another put him into a "sleeperhold" which caused him to become unconscious.

If by "blood choke" you mean a naked rear choke or carotid restraint, you're talking about 15-20 seconds (or even less) is enough time to render someone unconscious. [snip]. If you hold on for too long, you can invariably cause brain damage or even death. You are starving the brain of oxygenated blood, in essence killing it if held too long. Once the person loses consciousness, you must take care to make sure he doesn't flop to the ground, which can cause neck or head injury. Release the choke the second you fell the person go limp, control his head and neck, and ease him to the ground on his side.
That's what you think.
I agree that this isn't over. The euthanasia crowd would like to think they've won but the pro-life crowd won't give up just as we have NOT given up on abortion.
During all of the emotionally- and physically-exertive activities that precede and are associated with restraint asphyxia deaths, progressively-increasing amounts of catecholamines are released into the Victim's system. This creates what medical professionals call a, "hypercatabolic state" – an "overdose" of these naturally-produced chemicals. A hypercatabolic state is a chemical imbalance that weakens ALL of the body's muscles. But, it especially weakens the respiratory muscles.(1,12) Unless we have a respiratory disease, human beings never even notice the "effort" required to breathe. However, we certainly notice occasional extremity muscle "effort"-exertion (such as when having to walk up several flights of stairs). This means that our extremity muscles are accustomed to occasionally being called upon to perform extra exertion. But, our respiratory muscles are NOT accustomed to occasionally having to work harder!
So, because our respiratory muscles are entirely unaccustomed to exerting excessive effort to accomplish breathing, our respiratory muscles do not boast a significant amount of "muscle tone" or "strength." Thus, when faced with extreme-exertion requirements and body chemical imbalances, our respiratory muscles begin to "fail" long before our extremity muscles do.
Syriacus and T'wit, I thought I would address you both in my reply. This is extremely important information, and I thank you for posting this. When you are in a confrontational situation, the "flight/fight" response is triggered, as mentioned above. If "flight" isn't available, then by nature you will defend yourself. Terri's hands were under her, because perhaps the weight on top made it impossible to move them. She would naturally struggle to free herself and was probably attempting to throw the weight off. Her metabolism, as pointed out by the author of this article, would go haywire.
Choking leaves bruises, but as we see, you can asphyxiate someone by holding them in certain positions. What has concerned me, is no mention of bruising or damage to her esophagus by the paramedics and emergency room personnel.
I thought you gave me permission to say it's suspicious. Who's being intellectually dishonest, hmmmm? Facts aren't slander and innuendo. Nice try though.

Excellent! I wish I could have copied and pasted this, so as to not misquote, but here goes: "62 percent of choking incidents showed no marks". This has been bugging me for a long time. Why didn't they see any marks? Obviously because even though you've been choked, there aren't physical clues present in over half of the cases investigated by Law Enforcement!

For the most part I am "preaching to the choir," but there are also lurkers and newbees, so it doesn't hurt to review once in awhile. :)
It's possible that far more people lurk than post. Glenn Beck said that he received, I think it was thousands of e-mails from FreeRepublic, and there aren't that many that post re: Terri and other euthanasia issues.
