Several bloggers have drawn attention to a strange lead in a Washington Post story about the Terri Schiavo autopsy results. The June 16 Post story by David Brown said that "Terri Schiavo died of the effects of a profound and prolonged lack of oxygen to her brain on a day in 1990, but what caused that event isn't known and may never be, the physician who performed her autopsy said…"

Also sickining is the FACT that the Schindlers said they would keep her alive even if chemo...heart surgury, and amputation of all her limbs were necessary to keep her boby breathing...and this they would do even if they knew that their daughter would not wish it so...Selfish greedy people.
Greer had good reason to rule as he did.
You write extremely well. Let me tell you about the "realities of litigation". The person who has the most money and a rabid lawyer...wins. I have unfortunately found out that ethical and lawyer, for the most part, do not belong together in the same sentence. MS, and someone I was married to for 19 years, pick the nastiest representation, they can buy. That type of lawyer wouldn't give a shit if their client lies. All they care about is whether the check is good.
I've had good luck for the most part with doctors. I couldn't imagine a competent physician state your example of Terri's life expectancy to a jury. If I were on that jury, I'd be pissed off, and so would you. OTOH, this is why many people can no longer afford medical insurance. The costs of these verdicts pass down to you and me.
An honest and ethical person would not have sued the doctors, if he/she knew the injured party's wishes. This money was to be used for care and rehab. MS gets the money, and suddenly remembers "her wishes". Legalities aside, do you believe MS to be truthful? I have a low opinion about people who sue in these situations, but this is over the top, imo.
If MS had hired an ethical lawyer who knew that he intended to have his wife killed after being awarded a settlement, would not take the case. I know I wouldn't.
I think the problem is that many people here have been blessed by not having a sociopath in their lives. I cannot say I know how their minds work, because my brain just "doesn't go there". So, I get sandbagged over and over again. At least I'm still breathing.

The Schindlers greed was evidant? What greed? They wanted tot take care of their daughter? If that is being greedy than count me in to the greedy crowd cause if my son's life were at stake like Terri's was I'd have done the same thing.
There is nothing selfish or greedy about wanting to save a life. They were asked in court these questions about limb removing, etc.. and they answered that if Terri life had needed to be saved by removing a limb that they would do it. That is selfish? My DH's grandmother who is in her late 70's had to have her leg removed or she was going to die? My Mother in law asked her to do it so she would not die. Was that selfish of my mother in law to insist that her mom give her self more time so she wouldn't die since her leg was filled with cancer all the way to the bone and if she had not removed it she would have died? if that is selfish than again count me in, cause i'd do the same thing. My DH's grandmother got her leg off and has gotten to enjoy a few more moments in her life that God has allowed her to have.
What is selfish is people like you who think that if a limb or 2 is missing than a person is not worth living. What is selfish is that people like you think the handicapped should be put down rather than to live. I'd say that is pretty sick and twisted!
I know someone who's mother has the part of her brain where site is controlled damaged just like Terri's was and she can still see. Imagine that!! Personally, unless Terri was given and eye exam there was no way to prove she was blind for sure!
Common sense tells us that most parents hold any child of theirs (no matter how young or adult) so close and so tenderly to their heart, that if directly put on the spot and interrogated with many hypothetical scenarios, would say, "Yes ... absolutely ..I would do everything to save my child." Do you know any parents questioned hypothetically like this who wouldn't?
I don't think KDD gets it. I would do just about anything to save my child.
Funny also is that most people want to live, not die and if faced with losing a limb so that they can live most choose to lose the limb.
Maligning parental love is a low tactic. Since you apparently haven't seen this, I'll repost it. Btw, what was Schiavos haste?

Before her death, Michael had protested his innocence on Larry King Live and elsewhere, claiming that the settlement money had been all but used up, leaving him only about $25,000. As it turns out, given the behind-the-scenes financial shenanigans with Felos, there was about $1 million in the account, perhaps $2 million depending upon how well the investments did since 1993. Felos received a little over a half-million for his efforts. Not bad wages for a spiritual killer.

Get real. You have spread lies in order to dehumanize disabled people. How does that humanize unborn people?
Not in the state of Florida. Under these circumstances, and under the supervision of a physician, removing the feeding tube is a standard if sad medical treatment. You don't like it, change the law according to the procedures established.
Silly arguements do not change the fact that Schiavo was there and no reason for her collapse has been found. The circumstances are suspicious and no information has changed that.
You can offer it. You can't force someone to take it. And you can't forcibly install a feeding tube or keep it in against someone's will. That is a fundamental violation of our constitutional rights.
