***If Democrats are going to make an issue of same-sex "marriage, or one-sex "marriage", during the confirmation hearings, it isn't to make it known to Republicans, or the overwhelming majority of Americans who are against same-sex[one-sex] "marriage".

A pro-homosexual agenda is still a major plank in the DNC platform, and Schumer's comments make it all the more obvious.

I hope they keep this up. In fact, I hope that Durbin comes out tomorrow to suggest that freeing Gitmo terrorists is a "supreme court issue."

Maybe Sen. Schumer doesn't want to be outdone by Sen. Kennedy and his radical pro-homosexual She-Male bill?

Regardless, Schumer apparently intends to make an issue of it. No doubt it was because of the homosexual activists that are rife within the Democrat Party.

Leading Senate Judiciary Democrat Charles Schumer said Sunday that he intends to make gay marriage an issue in the upcoming confirmation battle over President Bush's pick to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

There is a God!

Go, Chuckie, go!

This is going to be so much fun!

The Democratic party is the gift that keeps on giving. I hope Chuckie and his liberal friends keep on talking...they manage to offend large groups of Americans every time they do.

I welcome Chuckie to do so.

Half of the Democrat base opposes homosexual marriage. If they believe 'mainstream' judges would legitimize gay marriage they'll be polling about 20-28% of the country max.

I don't see how. If he opposes gay marriage with both his opinions and his vote, perhaps he wants to ask about it so that a support of the same doesn't get on the Supreme bench.

This guys is nuts! Something like 74% of the American population support marriage between a man and a women and not homos. Here in Ohio President Bush won the state in a close election. However, there was a gay-marriage initiative on the ballot and 72% of Ohio voters voted it down. So even if 50% of the voters were Demos and voted for sKerry in a close election, at least 20% of Demos had to cross the line and vote against the gay marriage initiative to bring the total to 72%

Looks like the Dems are going to apply a litmus test for anyone who goes up for confirmation on a whole range of issues.

Didn't they say Republicans shouldn't be allowed to apply litmus tests like abortion to court nominations? Hmmm.

The media(all media in general)rammed the hip hop culture down our throats in order to even the playing field. If the hip hop culture could not be civilized then the rest of us would be dragged down. The gay agenda is being pushed on us the same way. Everywhere you look there are queers. Articles and ads in newspapers, even Dear Abby has a few each week preaching that homosexuality is normal.(I do question the wisdom of those who write in anyway) Gay advertising is on television and now there is a gay TV network. The Food Network had a gay couple win its contest to get their own show. We are getting this rammed down our throats(no pun intended) and we cannot stop it. The device is already set in motion to marginalize our opinions and make us out to be bigots. Your kids are being taught in school that homosexuality is a viable lifestyle choice. They are indoctrinating our kids and numbing the adults to it. Wait until the first queer advertisement goes on a NASCAR car. Coming soon to erode your society and there are so few politicians who will actually publicly speak out.

Bush will get no one confirmed. He will make recess appointments good for 17 months. That's the future we are looking at unless the Senate can get a 65 Repub majority.

I think that the gay marriage question could disqualify a lot of the potential nominees, from the conservative viewpoint.

Currently, the Constitution does not ban gay marriage. So they would all say that it's a state issue, which would not sit well with conservatives.

Of course, I suppose a liberal might think that the Constitution bans discrimination against gay couples wanting to get married, or that the Congress cannot legislate on it.

Hopefully none of the nominees Bush might put forward would say that, though.

I imagine some of these Red State Democratic Senators up for re-election might horse whip the Senator from New York if he does that. They would a snowball's chance in hell of surviving the 2006 election.

I guess the Republicans need a 66-33 majority in the Senate. Let Chuckie-Cheese help the Republicans...

Oh please, oh please, let them be this stupid.

If they go on 'demanding' that the nominee say Gay Marrage is in the Constitution, they won't have a seat left in the Senate.

I believe Chucky has finally lost it. He says he's opposed to gay marriage, but all of a sudden he wants to make it part of a litmus test for a Supreme Court nominee. Pssst! Hey Chucky! The Democrats are pro-gay marriage! Didn't you get the memo?

Sounds like Chucky saw a camera and a microphone and felt like he just had to open his pie-hole.
