Freemason Scots 'laid foundations of America'

JULY 4 is a date firmly fixed in the consciousness of all Americans. Perhaps it should also be imprinted in the mind of Scots with a sense of history. Who was involved in the building of the White House? And who helped to start the American War of Independence? The surprising answer might be Scottish freemasons.

I understand that your very fragile religious worldview is threatened by the existence of Catholic Freemasons - but they are out there and they are fine men whom I am privileged to call brothers - as both Christians and Masons.

Your great grandfather wouldn't have told you Any details, were he alive; however, he probably would have alaid your misguided fear that there was anything of an occult nature in FreeMasonry.

Just like any other fraternal order, Masons have "secret" rituals, but they about as "occult", as the girl scouts.

If FreeMasonry was a nefarious, occult riven society, then there would have been no need, for those with interest in the occult to leaves; now would there?

And, if your worst fears were factual, then men such as Washington and John Wayne, and Harry Houdini and Teddy Roosevelt, and all of the men who threw the BOSTON TEA PARTY and all of the kings of England ( for the past 300 years ), to name but a few, had to have been occultists. That makes about as much sense as the French priest, Abbe Barruel's specious claim, that the French Revolution was cooked up my Masons and Jews, does...NONE !

From the article, now I have no problem with the ordinary working guys, skilled craftsmen, but the supposed "ancient knowledge and rituals" calls into question what is really being promoted.

Both sides of my father's family were Scottish and came from Scotland/England/Ireland, which I do not know exactly. I can only verify back to 1750 in this country.

I find it humorous that the founding of this nation by anyone claiming to be Christian would give credit to a specific organization. Consider I know what the Bible has to say and it gives NO credit to "secret" organizations for what would be.
