Same to you, my good friend, and Senate-rules-guru...The confirmation hearings are gonna be great theater..we should probably discuss some ideas for the live threads..
Ah...no wonder I missed it.
Oh Goodie .. it's not on here yet .. I'll be able to see it later :0)
Assuming they do, all pending nominations are returned to the president.
A number of nominations are potentially caught up in that. Bolton, Myers (9th Circuit), and Boyle (4th Circuit) are all on the Senate's Executive Calendar now. That is, those nominations are out of committee (Myers since March 17th, Boyle since June 16th). Frist can show some backbone by bringing any one of these three up for consideration. My speculation is close to worthless; but I will form an opinion based on Frist's action (or inaction) regarding the Myers nomination.RULE XXXI
EXECUTIVE SESSION - PROCEEDINGS ON NOMINATIONS...
6. Nominations neither confirmed nor rejected during the session at which they are made shall not be acted upon at any succeeding session without being again made to the Senate by the President; and if the Senate shall adjourn or take a recess for more than thirty days, all nominations pending and not finally acted upon at the time of taking such adjournment or recess shall be returned by the Secretary to the President, and shall not again be considered unless they shall again be made to the Senate by the President.
There are an additional 4 Circuit Court Nominations in the Judiciary Committee at this moment. They are Haynes, Nielson, Saad, and Kavanaugh.
you're welcome....

Nan Aron is vile!!!!
Yep .. the talking memo line for the week is "To United This Country"
The liberal on FNC just used that line also
Georgie asked Arlen a question...Swimmer jumped in...Arlen then said.."I'm talking..the question was to me..you're starting the filabuster early, Ted. I've read your statement on Friday. It wasn't helpful. I'm prepared for you."... I couldn't believ it..Arlen?..whoda thunk it?
Mol we keep asking the same questions this morning LOL
Oh goody! Not only is Brit on the panel today, but Krauthammer is there too!
Juan might want to wear his flame retardent suit!
GMTA :0)
They say whatever they think will work..IT's the Goebbels' theory..BIG LIE..
I wish just once they'd be challenged with the facts...in real time.
After writing for one paper or another for over 30 years I sadly have to agree with you.
The bigger the paper the worse the bias. They no longer can just "report" but have to "spin" their way through each and every article. The opposite side, if any, usually is buried on page 34 if used at all.
Your most profound statement is " no matter who GW puts forward something major will be wrong with the candidate according to the rats." There's no reason to not nominate a solid conservative. It's going to end the same way, regardless. Democrats will howl and cry and try using the filibuster again, and the Republicans will use the Constitutional Option making the 14 senate Primadonna's cringe.
Juan isn't even a lightweight in this group.. It's like PeeWee footballers playing the SB champs...Best moment on FNS is the look on Brit's face when Juan says somehtign reallly dumb..which happens quite often..Onl;y thing that even comes close is on McLaughlin...Watch Tony Blankley when Eleanor Clift starts screeching...it's priceless..
