we need someone who is on the record for overturning Roe v. Wade as the bad law that it is, fight that fight in the Senate, and use the nuclear option, if needed. Bring it on! OK so Bush nominate a openly consevative anti abortion person. The Democrats go balistic. So Frist, following your advice goes for the nuclear option. Guess what happens. The Seven RINOs go with the Democats and your openly coservative appointee never gets to sit a day on the court. The reason Frist never did the NUCLEAR OPTION is that it would fail.. There are 55 Republicans it takes 50 of them to vote for the Nuclear option. The conservatives only have 48 votes. The Seven RINOs won't vote for it. The NUCLEAR OPTION would be defeated 48 for 52 against. The nominee would never get a vote.
Is that what you really want? A total Defeat of a consevative nominee by the Demorats and RINOs?
If people like you didn't exist, Teddy Kennedy would have to invent you...

Bush certainly has learned these lessons but so have we. Prior SCOTUS nominees had to go through a Democrat Senate until Clinton faced Republicans in the 90's. President Bush will have a benefit other Republican presidents didn't have: a Republican Senate.

Is the link you provided the NASA link, Oxen?
I'd like to set the clock and watch that coverage.

Disgusting that given the opportunity to find a less leftist candidate, Hatch put his imprimatur on this evil woman.

Not all journalists are like Andrea Mitchell & Russert. Read what this
American reporter says &
British reporter, who says -
In person Mr Bush is so far removed from the caricature of the dim, war-mongering Texas cowboy of global popular repute that IT SHAKES ONES FAITH IN THE RELIABILITY OF THE MODERN MEDIA.

I would hope that some conservative on one of the shows would remind the Dem's of what the talking points were when Ginsburg was appointed to the SC. The argument than was that they needed to balance the courts given the last appointment, (C.Thomas).
Since Ginsburg was the last appointment we need to balance her appointment accordingly.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Feinswine wants a SCJ nominee from the mainstream, to bring everyone together. It should be a woman...to "replicate" O'Connor.
Oh--this is rich!

Absolutely right Peach. Congrats on your letter to the editor.
The truth is there are so many links to terrorists and AQ to Iraq, Iran, Syria other places it would take a book and books have been written, on it to tell them all. The problem is many MSM'ers just don't want to hear the truth. They have today's DNC talking points and that's all they need.
Thirty years ago when a member of a political party lied they ran the risk of being called on it. Today lies are considered "political spin". This concept could be the death of truth.
Unfortunately much of the public gets confused. You have to really get into geopolitics to figure out what is going on. Most of us here have got it down but talk to your neighbor sometime and get the latest baseball or basketball score and not much else.

Looong story short: Valerie Plame works for the CIA. Her position is unclear, some claiming she's in an administrative position, others claim she's a CIA "operative".
If she's an operative, her position and name are to be kept secret. However, she was "outed" by the media.
The media called for a special prosecutor to find out who leaked her name. (They're hoping it was Karl Rove)
The SCOTUS refused to hear the case to overturn a lower court ruling saying the reporters had to turn over the names of their sources as part of the investigation into who the leaker was.
The reporters must now turn over their notes and information, or go to jail.

President Bush will have a benefit other Republican presidents didn't have: a Republican Senate. He has one other major benefit: Boyden Gray is heading up the public confirmation campaign. He isn't a snarling pit bull who will attack the Dems head on, but the public will appreciate his dignified demeanor.

That is assuming, of course, that when push comes to shove, said RINOs are truly going to be responsibile for another Bork-ing - gotta go, Wimbledon!

Fortunately, the publishers of the two newspapers most popular in town are conservative; otherwise that letter never would have seen the light of day.
What I cannot get over is the press just acting as mouthpieces for the DNC. They have become mere stenographers and let the most outrageous, contradictory, hypocritical comments go by unchallenged.

This Christmas I'm gonna buy a DVDR ..I just got the HD-DVR box from Comcast. It's really kewl. You can record anything or 2 things at once, and it stores up to 60 hours.
All for an extra$9.98 a month. The HD box without the DVR was $5.00 extra so it's really only an extra 5 bucks.
MY suggestion, don't wait till Christmas, do it NOW.
