Allstate has fired a manager because he expressed his Christian beliefs concerning homosexuality. Matt Barber was a manager in Allstate's Corporate Security Division. On his own time, and without identifying himself as an employee of Allstate, he wrote a column posted on several websites which was critical of same-sex marriage.
An outside homosexual group complained to Allstate about the column. Because of their support for the homosexual agenda, Barber was immediately fired and ushered off company property.
The message is clear: To work for Allstate one must not publicly express their Christian belief in the Bible's teaching on homosexuality. Barber was fired because he did. Homosexuals can criticize and condemn the Bible's teaching and they are welcomed, but Christians must remain silent.
TAKE ACTION
Allstate has sent a message to all their agents: If you are a Christian and believe the Bible's teaching on homosexuality, you will be fired. While Allstate touts its diversity, that diversity does not include Christian beliefs on homosexuality.
First, send Allstate Chairman Edward M. Liddy an email to register your complaint demanding both a public apology and reinstatement for Mr. Barber with back pay. Then call your local Allstate agent and tell him or her you will not be purchasing any insurance from them.
You can find a listing of Allstate agents in your area by clicking here . Tell the Allstate agent you will tell your friends about their disdain for Christians who believe the Bible's teaching on homosexuality.
Email Allstate Chairman Liddy Now!
Sincerely,
Don

If he had an ounce of sense, he would have left his workplace and gone to the nearest lawyer's office. Allstate will pay for this one.
I think the termination was absolutely reasonable. How could a person work for Allstate and believe in God, too? (humor)
I am sure he will be in good hands.
(First really bad joke ping!)
Allstate just committed suicide.
Maude Flanders: "Ned doens't believe in insurance - he sees it as a form of gambling."
If he associated the Allstate name with his letter, I might understand this. But seems like both Allstate and the complaining employee ought to be sued.
exactly he needs to sue! sue! sue! When these companies realize their discriminatory pro homo policies cost them in the purse they'll start to get straight.
This is Christian Hunting, Caligula style.
And like a good neighbor..........nevermind.
I think that it could be a lawsuit against the guy who reported it, too. He intentionally interfered with the manager's contract with Allstate. Give him a taste of his own medicine.
Short story, my brother had a fender bender on a country road where a fellow with no insurance came around a blind curve too fast, crossed over the middle of the road and struck my brother head on. My brother filed a claim on his uninsured motorist policy since he only had liability and uninsured motorist coverage. Allstate then hired a lawyer to represent the GUY WHO RAN IN TO MY BROTHER so they wouldn't have to pay the $900 repair cost.
I dropped Allstate within the week.
Having a political life, including writing editorials and opinion pieces for public consumption, might be looked down on by workplaces that don't want to have to deal with your political life. Everyone should be aware of this risk.
If Archie Bunker were only here:
He would read the subject line, whince and say:
"Aw Jeeze!!"
This is religious-based discrimination, which is a federal civil rights violation.
How long before the ACLU steps up and sues Allstate?
He should give Allstate some aflac on this one....
How did they find out who he worked for.....
I think Allstate was wrong but what possible case could this guy have (unless he's covered by state law)?
Private employer. They make the rules, for the most part. Especially if this state is an "at-will" employment state.
