CNN) -- The number of Americans disapproving of President Bush's job performance has risen to the highest level of his presidency, according to the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday.

I'd like him more if he'd publically RIP into the G damned SCOTUS!
Political capital is sort of like your health meter in a video game. You pick up a healt kit, it goes up. You go out and get shot some more, it slides down until you pick up another health kit. Good point.
Still, I don't see what he's doing besides the Social Security thing which nobody wants to hear about right now. That thing is going to take two or three years to cook I think, before something comes out. And if this war thing doesn't settle down and something resolve itself around these borders and the illegals, I don't know if anything is going to happen re SS.
Still, we're in a place like we were before the handover of a year ago. We're waiting for a constitution. That will be another major defeat for the terrists. They handled the turnover brilliantly, doing it off the publicized schedule, doing it largely without ceremony, etc. so it couldn't be disrupted. Also, Saddam is about to go on trial. So maybe a steady as she goes, or hold your water, you ain't seen nuthin' yet message for the summer might be the right thing to say although it's going to p!ss people off around here.
liberal tv generated.
they did the same thing during the vietnam war--continuous focus on negative emotional issues.
back at the ranch, most of the rats in the box believe it.
it's payback time from cbs to president bush for bettering dan rather. cbs did not even broadcast durbin's evil, but they propagandized rove's remarks.
Clinton lived for approval ratings and never spent them to accomplish any great thing and his Presidency expired worthless.
You pick which you'd prefer.
Exactly right. GWB is a leader! History will be very kind to him.
Well Nixon and Ike didn't get along and wasn't actively supported in the 1960 election. Bill Clinton's popularity was mythical and media driven. He never won a pularity of the vote. Scandals and impeachment dropped his popularity to low levels at the time of his departure.
Look how Hillary barely won her senate seat against an unknown late replacement.
And check out Jacque Chirac's poll numbers. He's down there in the 20s.
IMO the reason Bush's numbers are down is because he seems to have disappeared. I love him when he's out there taking on the libs, taking on the tough issues but where has he been on any of the big issues about supremes, stupid Durbin, lies by the left?
Hanging around ex-pervert in chief does not help.
As I said this is a forum of discussion and dissent. Clearly as others have stated, we all on one issue or another have disagreements with the way W. has handled that particular issue. However, in the long and short of it, in the balance, I will take W. over what we would have gotten with hanoi john or just about any other dem that you could mention.
I believe these OBVIOUS FAKE push polls are for the upcomming USSC nomination.
These are not done for anyone but those INSIDE THE BELTWAY. For those congress critters who do not live in the real world.
They don't have to influence REAL people only those who live the the DC Menatal Vacume.
Yup!
Posted her image around post 95 or so.
He hasn't disappeared .. He has been out daily giving speeches and talking to people
I've been watching him on FNC
IMO .. I think his problem is this "new tone" in DC
I realize that he doesn't like to tell Congress what to do and he doesn't like to get in the mud with the Dems
But he can hit back without getting in the sewer with them
I agree with you on that, but it seems rather distressing to always have to settle for something less than we want, especially given some of the insanity over the past year or two.
I was just now looking at it! Wow!
The Rapist's VP lost a squeaker.
That 59% was significantly ahead of Ronald Reagan's 48% in 1988 (his VP won convincingly), but well behind Ike's 65% approval rating (other party took over the White House in another squeaker).

I think you have hit the nail on the head. A lot of these polls are to cause division in the Congressional ranks. A secondary reason for the concentration on the polls is to affect the 2006 elections. If they think they can diminish GW's popularity, then perhaps he won't be such an asset in campaigning for congressional and senate candidates.
And she has all of the attitude visible in the image, and then some.
Now that is the A team of the T's!
Thanks for letting us know that GW hasn't disappeared from us loyal GW supporters!:)
Ask Howard Dean how his financial collections for the Rat Party are doing versus ours?
