Code Pink leader Jodie Evans, in a blog posted from the World Tribunal on Iraq, today gave her open support to the terrorists in Iraq who are killing American soldiers and Iraqis
While some may wonder, "is this news?" it is, indeed. Code Pink has been very careful over the past three years to maintain a front of being a peace group. In fact, it's complete name is Code Pink Women for Peace. The veil slipped when co-leader Medea Benjamin shot her mouth off in Jordan last December when she proclaimed the group was giving $600,000 in cash and aid to the families of "the other side" in Fallujah.
Recently, Code Pink has been holding weekly Friday night vigils at the main gate to Walter Reed Army Medical Center to express their phony support for the men and women recuperating from their war wounds. I wonder how the soldiers and families at Walter Reed will take the news that the pink sign holding people have given their support to the terrorists in Iraq.
The D.C. Chapter will be sure to tell them at our next patriotic counter-demonstration there.
Here are Jodie Evans' remarks, preserved for posterity:
We must begin by really standing with the Iraqi people and their right to resist. I can remain myself against all forms of violence, and yet I cannot judge what someone has to do when pushed to the wall to protect all they love. What does the Iraqi resistance have to lose? They are fighting for their country, to protect their families and to preserve all they love. They are fighting for their lives, and we are fighting for lies. It is so amazingly obvious; we must get out of Iraq now. They will rebuild their country, it will take time, a long time, but they cannot start until we are gone.
Code Pink now joins ANSWER as publicly endorsing the terrorists. This has been a sticking point between ANSWER on one side and Code Pink and United for Peace and Justice on the other. I expect them all to support the terrorists publicly by the time Sept. 24-26 rolls around in Washington, D.C.
The leftists are planning "non-violent direct action and civil disobedience" in D.C. on Monday Sept. 26. When they tried that two years ago, the D.C. police swiftly disrupted their plans by arresting leftist protesters demonstrating without a permit. Since then, successful lawsuits were filed against the D.C. police and the D.C. City Council passed a law severely restricting the cops' ability to preserve law and order in the city when protests get out of hand.
Code Pink will be there and I'm sure their terrorist allies will be cheering them on.
I don't question their patriotism. I just marvel at how they can devote it to the Soviet Union, an entity that ceased to exist more than a decade ago.
The Anarchist in American are a REAL threat to our existence as a free nation.
Oh, the Saudi's AREN'T fueling the insurgency?
That's why it's up to us.
Welll...the POTUS probably believes "CODE PINK" to be a joke, which it is...only those fools think they're important. And the news puts them on solely because their sensational...but they don't have a large following.
The real problem is the "Democratic Party..." These fools have become an inherent danger to this country. Why are their actions bordering, if not outright, seditious behavior? What do they think they are gaining by constantly emboldening this country's enemies with sound bites and divisive statements?
The POTUS needs to call them out. The CODE Pink's of the country can rot...they'll eventual find their special place in hell.
OMG. The domestic terrorists have GOT to be exposed more fully for what they are. We have GOT to Jane Fonda them.
Looking forward to the pics from your next Freep at Walter Reed. I hope you have a gigantic sign printed up with her exact words.
There's a large differance between dissenting opinion and psychotic opinion. And the left, left behind dissenting opinion a long time ago.
We are trying to change the dynamics of the Middle East without blowing it apart and causing a worse mess. We've been leaning on the Saudis, but if we pull the rug out on them anytime soon, Al Qaeda will win.
Do these idiots know, that most of the so called insurgents aren't actually insurgents and are from other countries?
They give idiots a bad name.
They don't care. They hate America more than they hate terrorists.
We'll have something for the pinkos. You can count on it.
Since I'm not able to be at Walter Reed, know that I'm with you in spirit.
You guys get to have all the fun...
Seriously, thanks to you and the DC Chapter for all you do for our Republic. You are making a difference!
If we were to leave Iraq before the Iraqis were able to take care of business by themselves, and the thugs/terrorists (I refuse to call them "insurgents") staged a coup, the kool-aid drinking barking moonbats of the loony left would be the first to crow that the big bad United States had been defeated.
Once we put all the terrorists Tango Uniform in Iraq, there is some business here at home to be tended to. When we put the loony-tunes nutcases of Code Pink and other subversive groups in Gitmo, let's make sure we give them cold MRE's and no showers. Not that they take showers anyway.
We attacked the wrong country, first of all.
I've had it up to here with politicians in this country who send our troops to die, then stab them in the back.
Either fight the war to win, or don't bother fighting.
If they want to be taken seriously, they need to change their name. "Code Pink" doesn't sound very scarey. Maybe they should try something like "Code Killers" or "Code Deathstar".
You know...you're a real class act. It's amazing the utter lack of coherence in your arguement. I am also amazed you can actually use a keyboard.
You are oblivious to practicality. You are asking for President Bush to call out the Democrats for being unpatriotic , around the 4th of July. This will be an unnecessary diversion, and one which we do not have the ammunition to fight or sustain. A better tactic is Kristinn's, leave the President out of this, and let us (independet groups, talk radio, 527s, etc) take this fight to the enemy (i.e. Code Pink, ANSWER, etc).
