Why not? Who knows why someone would kidnap her? Her family seems to have some idea. The fact that congressmen, Condi Rice, FBI invovlement (sent in right away), tells me that her stepdad has political/govt. connections. He does business in venezuela, not exactly friendly territory or far from aruba, so who knows.

I read on one of the other sites yesterday that Natalee's real father is an ex-special ops guy. This has not been confirmed, nor have I researched it.

I tthink her step dad's venezuelan connection is more current and interesting. The drugs and heaven knows what that flows through those islands from columbia and venezuela on their way here, is tremendous. Which raises the probability of corrupt island officials greatly. I'm sure there are other things chavez would love to send up our way.

I also read that at the very beginning of all this. I have not yet seen it confirmed. (Some were initially saying that it was HIS connections that were mobilizing the State Department, FBI, and private jets. That proved not to be the case.)
