One thing tho' I know over the years as I've been flipping through the channels I've caught the "spring break" shows on MTV ... same stuff happens .. and that's usually here in the states...

pamlet it is truly sad how low the moral compass has dropped in a number of our young people. But imho in the most part the parents are at fault. At the booty party that I mentioned I know that their were girls there 16 years old, and a few younger dress just like those on MTV. All I could think about was where are the parents, did the parents know that these young girls were out at this party, did the parents know what type of party this was and did the parents see how the girls were dressed when they left home.

Secularism, drugs, and porn are what they worship.

I think there's three types of parents..

Those who are aware and truly try to set a high standard.

Those who have no clue what's going on and blindly think their kids would never do anything "wrong" but don't give their kids a strong idea of what is right and wrong.

Those who go along with it because they don't care or don't want their kids to be on the "outside"

When my now 21 year old son was a senior in a very small private Christian school we had a trauma with their school sponsored Senior Class trip. The plan was to go to Washington DC but they graduated in 2002 - so a number of parents were uncomfortable with DC after 9/11.

When we had to regroup the class was just about evenly divided... South Padre Island or a ski trip. The trip was to take place during spring break!! I was AMAZED at the parent that fought very hard for the South Padre trip.. Even with 18 kids and 5 chaps I was not comfortable with it - nor was my son .. or really any of the boys.

We went to the meeting and I was VERY proud of the guys that spoke out against the beach.. including my son. They were quite well spoken that it was not a place for kids their age to be going on a class trip from a Christian school. They ultimately ended up going skiing... but to this day am floored that some of the parents were SO encouraging that this was sort of a "right of passage" that ALL kids have to go through. Well I didn't - my husband didn't .. and now my son hasn't as well as many of his friends. So it's not something ALL kids do - but to see it on television you'd think that was the case.
