...Stay tuned...
;)
I can't recall the exact quote. I'll ping you if I think of it.
There could have been something about that/those phone calls Paulus was taken while Greta was there in the home. Something about the phone calls and the presence of Greta possibly could have put Paulus in the very uncomfortable, sweaty, handwringing mood.
He could be overheard talking on the phone. It wouldn't take much to decipher that conversation, if the lines are tapped.
Agree. Talking to the van der Sloots in their own home? Quite a score. I also like her interaction with Mrs. Twitty. Her appreciation and admiration for the woman is visible, but not overly emotional like Geraldo.
I don't know what my fool son thought was going to happen over the weekend when he couldn't produce that report card. It was a Friday. He must have thought he'd bought himself at least two days' grace. I know he didn't think he'd get this whopper past his dad, though. (He was terrified of his dad, a fact I didn't discover for years. I thought he adored his dad. Okay, I admit to having been stupid as well as naive!) No corporal punishment from his dad. Just a Leo who didn't know how to be a dad because his own had been somewhat cold and distant. Plus he didn't talk politics with his son, and that was a lost opportunity. It's such a good way to introduce your kids to the real world and how things work. Despite my ultimate failure in that regard!
oh my goodness. what could have possibly happened to the poor kid with that many witnesses. guilty witnesses i wonder?
Isn't that the truth! Clearly, the 'boys' here didn't watch enough Law and Order or NYPDBlue! And despite Deepak's working at that internet cafe and emailing all the time, he didn't have enough knowledge about what can be retrieved after deletion, or else they panicked and didn't know what else to do but frantically use a cell phone or email.
I wonder if that rumor of seeing Daddy VDS out at McD's at 3am may be true.
Could be. I think he helped orchestrate the cover-up.
Man, I feel truly sorry for Mrs. VDS. Her own family hasn't been totally truthful to her, it seems.
Wow. I am at work and so glad I logged on, even if i get busted! Daddy Van arrested. Excellent. Maybe they can make some headway now.
Agree with your post, and that bit about Paulus going back to the beach, possibly, and finding N not there. But. He is a judge and presumably, no dope, and I would think if this innocent scenario were true, once it was public that N was missing, Paulus would have immediately marched Joran and the brothers to the LE and told all he knew. Girl, drunk, left at beach by my son, foolishly. I went back to check, but she was gone. I assumed she'd returned to her hotel. Period. That would have been embarrassing, but they'd have all been off the hook.
I hope Mrs. VDS has a support system in Holland. I believe she'll have to take her other sons and retreat back there when this is all over.
The sight of Beth and Greta marching around, knocking on doors, getting in where nobody else could is truly astonishing. It is Wonderwoman and her little sister. I was surprised when I saw how small Greta is. She's a human dynamo.
Interesting. I wondered how Greta persuaded them to allow a filmed interview. When they first talked at the gate, he said, No Camera, and she said, Fine.
Satish Kalpoe to mom: 'We didn't do anything' The mother of the Kalpoes said Thursday that one son had admitted he and his brother made up a cover story to protect Joran Van Der Sloot.
Nadira Ramirez told CNN she was permitted to visit son Satish Kalpoe at Aruba's prison within the past week.
Initially, Ramirez said, her sons had told her and police they dropped Holloway off at the Holiday Inn, where she was staying. But Satish Kalpoe told his mother later that was a lie aimed at protecting Van Der Sloot.
In fact, he told his mother, he and his brother had dropped Holloway and Van Der Sloot off at the beach by the Marriott hotel, about a mile from the Holiday Inn.
Ramirez tearfully said her son insisted he and his brother were innocent.
"'We didn't do anything. We will be out from here. Don't cry,'" she said he told her.
"I asked him, 'Satish, are you sure you guys didn't do anything?'" she said.
She said he responded: "'No, mama. We gave that girl and Joran a lift.'
"They don't even know Natalee. They said she didn't even introduce herself to them," she said. "They don't know anything else about that."
Ramirez's account echoes comments made by one of two security guards who were arrested June 5 in connection with the case and released June 13.
The guards, Abraham Jones, 28, and Mickey John, 30, were never charged.
After his release, John said Deepak Kalpoe confided to him while they were in jail together that he had lied to police.
Mrs. VDSloot is a tragic figure. What happened to this family, is like a cyclone. Everything smashed for both families, and how to pick up the pieces? This is the stuff of divorce, too. Okay, films and books and endless talk shows. Pray for Natalee. Somehow she almost gets 'lost' in all this.
AND! Thanks Tex Kat for the ping!
