Aruba Authorities Arrest Suspect's Dad - Fox News

Aruban government spokeswoman Mariaine Croes confirmed that Paul van der Sloot was detained and taken to the police station for processing.

Croes said he was arrested under "reasonable suspicion" in the disappearance of Holloway. He is now in his first 6 hours of interrogation. When that ends at 8 p.m. tonight, a judge will decide whether to hold the elder van der Sloot for another 48 hours.

Just think.....Greta certainly now has replaced Commie Christiane Amenpour as the queen of cable news.

If Greta is ever embedded in Iraq, I think I'd really trust her to give us the straight news.

Go, Fox!

Hah! What a whopper! I told a few myself in my boyhood days, but my mother was like Greta--incessant questioning until I broke down.

I'm willing to bet that Greta gave a copy of the interview to Beth and she gave it to the Aruban police.

The media attention has been key, as well. (Again some of that has been due to the presence and persistence of Mrs. Twitty.)

I believe that Aruba would be inclined to sweep this under the rug without that kind of focus.

(I've noticed with the media on the island these last 3.5 weeks that, apart from the Holloway disappearance, there was a decapitation murder, a body found behind the cemetary and a recent suicide/disappearance on this idyllic little island. This is either a highly unusual year, or their prior crime statistics are utter B.S.)

I thought the body found in the cemetary WAS the suicide, am I wrong?

I thought a couple of guys I was hanging out with were going to kill me with a screwdriver once. We were all tripping (MDA, the X of the day) and they took me out to a deserted place and supposedly we were just going to drink some beer but one of them insisted on taking this big screwdriver as we left the car. I was like "what do you need the screwdriver for?" and the dude was like "oh, nothing", but I thought I saw him smirk at the other dude.

I was 15 or so and they were older, like 19 and 21, and I didn't quite understand why they let me hang out with them, neither did my friends -- they wouldn't hang out with these guys because they were creepy.

Well, they didn't kill me. I don't know if they were thinking about it and chickened out, or if I was just paranoid. It was the kind of thing these guys would have thought about -- but the finger would have been pointing right at them. Sometimes teens kill just to see what it feels like.

Funny the things this case has made me remember. Nothing good, that's for sure.

Yes, she has; she's the one who said that if they hold the dad past 8 p.m. he's involved.

Why not believe him? That delays the bad news for what? One day? The weekend? Surely he didn't try to peddle that he was never going to get one?

That's an interesting and believable scenario, and if true, so much worse for them all than it should have been. Even if N had died of suffocation during attempted rape, they could still have gone to the cops and told at least some of the truth. It was an accident, when they realized she was dead, they went for help, etc.. This way, they dug their own graves. As to three 'boys' emailing and IM'ing their friends back and forth, that's totally believable. Kids never keep their mouths shut. And in this case, if Joran was trying to arrange the disposal of N's body, it makes real sense. It's likely Croese demanded payment to do this, if he did, after all, he's a father of a three year old, not wet behind the ears and this was extremely risky business. Joran's dad told Greta he was an actual judge, not in training, so they had an interesting conversation about the law for a few minutes during that interview. It's hard to believe a judge would get involved in disposal of a body, paying for it. For one thing, he'd lay himself open to blackmail. But who knows how a father would react when faced with what Joran might have confessed in the early hours of that morning. I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor after Greta's latest interview on Fox.
