Mathews lives in a fantasy world where the left is supposed to win.

He has NO SHAME in celebrating 8th anniversary of his show even though it is the lowest in cable ratings for a long time.

Rita Cosby reportedly signed a deal with MSNBC about a month ago. She is supposed to be hosting a one-hour show at 11PM EST, 5 days a week -- but I haven't heard anything of it.

Grew up in NW Kansas, near Wyoming and Colorado m but spent 20 years in Kansas City.

I thought it was illegal for Kansans to move to the left coast.

We couldn't do it before the Okies came out and set up the major stuff out here. now it is OK!

The press expect a President or a Prime Minster to change their story and their words constantly they are not used to someone sticking to their principles and beliefs. GWB therefore confuses and confounds them and that is another reason why they try to portray him as a bad communicator because they do not understand him.

A President speaking from the heart and speaking the truth that is a novelty to them and something that cannot be trusted and more important cannot be relaid to the American people they might just believe it. The MSM make me sick the same goes for the UK media be it the BBC and ITN and Sky are not far behind though they do tend to show you what is happening when it happens they may sanitize it later but if you catch it first time around you can decide yourself.

Sorry to see that you were gulled by the phony Washington comPost poll.

They polled 10% more democrats than republicans.

I about choked on my coffee during Meet the Depressed, when they all agreed that "something bad needed to happen" for the Dems to get a leg up on Bush...

Rush has talked about this for years, that bad news for the Country is good news for the 'Rats, and they proved that they at least recognize that fact this morning.

I disagree W is losing anything and I'm disappointed in those especially here at FR who would think so.

I could not agree with you more - on both counts.

W is laying low, waiting to complete the judges job, waiting for Iraqi's to start defending themselves.

I've compared him to an excellent poker player - playing his hand close to the chest. Smart move on his part, imo, since the LSM will attack no matter what he says or does.

These Sunday talk shows have become the press telling us what they think of themselves. They have no reflection of what America thinks as the elections have repeatedly shown.

Nice statement of the facts!

Rita Cosby reportedly signed a deal with MSNBC about a month ago.

But only after Fox REFUSED to renew her contract.

MTP citing low poll numbers; What the hell do they matter for GWB? They don't. Not a twit. Economy is booming, midterms won't be dramatically affected by W's approval ratings.

Who FRIGGIN cares about approval ratings. He doesn't that's for damn sure.

Yes, AB, thanks very much again for posting this Sunday Morning Talk Show thread--the first thing I read on Sunday, as soon as I boot my computer!

The comments on this thread are fantastic. MUCH better than listening to Plugs Bidet or Leaky Leahy. Or Bonny Fwank.

I'm listening to the FOx panel discuss the closing Gitmo issue and I am blown away yet again by how intelligent Brit Hume is.

Bush, or any Republican can NEVER win the pr war. AS long as the great bulk of the lamestream media insists on reporting their version of the news the impression will always be that conservatism is losing. However all we seem to do to arrive at this conclusion is look at lib media polling. How foolish is that? Yesterday I heard that Bush's approval rating was at 43% according to an AP/Ipsos poll. Pretty awful, right? But wait, that same day there was a Rasmussen (sp) poll released that had Bush at 51% approval. Rasmussen had the most accurate polling for the last election. Which one did YOU see and hear about on the news?

What really matters is what's happening across the nation and we all see how badly the libs are doing raising money (relative to the conservatives) and how split and discordant their Party has become despite the efforts to make it seem as they are "really" together on the important things. Remember that the main goal of the lib media and their elected buddies in Washington is to demoralize the opposition. I suggest that instead of listening to what the libs are saying you all look past that at what is happening across the country.

...at present family commitments prevent that.

I know - hope your dad is doing well. I took care of my mom during her final years. Very constraining, but worth it in the end. Be strong.

Interesting point which as a British person is lost somewhat on me we are not used to the title being used when addressed to our politicians.

Sometimes a reporter might say Prime Minister but more likely to be Mr Blair or Tony if he knows him.

We never say the surname with the title so you would not hear Prime Minister Blair or in the case of Reid the Secretary of Defence a reporter might say Minister but not Minister Reid.

So I suppose I do not immediately recognise this as yet another attack on your President thanks for pointing this out.

The media is successfully and gleefully recreating the dynamics of the US defeat in Vietnam. Wear down support for our effort.

"President Bush appears weak, timid and indecisive. I supported President Bush's reelection and expected a strong second term performance.
He might as well put out a white flag. If he can't communicate, he needs to identify a point man in his administration who can utter a coherent sentence.
If on 9/12, I could look into the future and see that in the year 2005, we would be concerned about the handling of the Koran, I'd be shocked.
I'm depressed by Bush and his administration."

Totally agree. He is a good man but he was elected to be a good President. I was stunned at his closing Gitmo comment. I was really upset about the illegal immigrant problem and, I'm really upset about his giving all of this money for aid in other contries. Aid in other countries -they are now cutting reasearch budets, which will most likely cost me my job in a few years. What about "charity begins at home"? Anyways, there is a lot I'm upset with him about. We say he is a poor communicator. That does not cut it. He was a good enough communicator to be elected so what is going on here?
