Anyone notice how long Tim's hair is? He has that George Washington look.

Syopsis of MTP panel. WaPo created a poll to get the results they wanted. Panel swallows it whole. They are encouraging congressional republicans to move away from the Prez on issues if they want to get reelected. Really bad advice which some republicans may take, I predict to their detriment which is what this bunch wants. Is David Broder an old fool, or is it just me.

I am not sure why you believe the media when Gallup: Public Confidence in News Media Falls to New Low Public trust in newspapers and television news continued to decline in Gallup's annual survey of "public confidence in major institutions" in the United States, reaching an all-time low this year.

Those having a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in newspapers dipped from 30% to 28% in one year, the same total for television.

The military topped the poll with a 74% confidence rating, with the police at 63% and organized religion at 53%.

The prisoners there are NOT covered by the Geneva Convention.

Needs to be repeated often. After 3 years, that this point is still being discussed is ludicrous!

No. The media bias, along with the constant negativity about the war and the economy, has been with us since at least 2003. The MSM gave it thier best last year leading to the election, and still failed. Since you're a newbie I'll cut you some slack. Believe me when I say what you're saying has been said for many years on Free Republic, but has yet to occur.

Tell everyone you know about the positive things about the war that you hear on this board. That will help. Read the threads posted by soldiers actually in Iraq and pass on what they say.

GW should recruit Brit Hume to explain how the media works, and how to provide better responses to the press. Also how to put positions and responses in a logical and persuasive format.

The media is successfully and gleefully recreating the dynamics of the US defeat in Vietnam. Wear down support for our effort.

President Bush appears weak, timid and indecisive. I supported President Bush's reelection and expected a strong second term performance.

He might as well put out a white flag. If he can't communicate, he needs to identify a point man in his administration who can utter a coherent sentence.

If on 9/12, I could look into the future and see that in the year 2005, we would be concerned about the handling of the Koran, I'd be shocked.

I'm depressed by Bush and his administration.

Bush is losing the PR war on both the economy and Iraq. He is a poor communicator and his enemies sense weakness.

It is not a problem with PR and communications. The MSM distorts the message and undercuts whatever the President says because they have a political agenda.

The idea that the President can communicate his way out of this bad press and image is a non-starter. It is like the Dems saying that they can win elections if they can just articulate their message better. They are losing because the public isn't buying the message.

Amen to what you've said. Brit Hume has a thoughtful, clear, and logical style of speaking and explaining which, sadly, is lacking in too many pundits.

How many times do Bush and Cheney have to say there will be no draft before the MSM shut up about it. It is almost that in some perverse way they want to see a draft

Rumsfeld said it best a few weeks ago. Speaking of those who claim that we need a draft, he said that they were "speaking from the pinnacle of near perfect ignorance."

The trouble is that many people do not understand this (they just believe what they hear or say in the media) and the Libs and their ilk play on this and infer that International laws etc have been broken.

The operative word is appears. I judge him by his actions. He has stayed the course so far and will not be influenced by bogus polls, which ask loaded questions to get desired answers. I am not buying the MSM spin.

REGARDLESS of were we put them .. the loony left WILL complain .. because they care more about the terrorists rights then they do of American lives

Thanks for the MTP overview. Sundays are SO much better not watching it, while learning of the gist of what it's doing.

David Broder is an old fool, yes, but he's one of the few sane people on the left for the most part. Sad commentary.

Smart Republicans realize the WP bias and won't follow it. Bias! How about delusional? The WP and others have been so wrong for so long, they have little credibility left. The WP sucked the Watergate story dry and that's all they really had.

If this is what you think, you ARE NOT listening to PRESIDENT Bush!!

I'm depressed by Bush and his administration.

Then quit being part of the problem! With all the crap being spewed across the airwaves it appears that the country is against PRESIDENT Bush, the military and the WOT! That is incorrect and should NOT be listened to!!

It has nothing to do with terrorists' rights at Gitmo or Abu Garib. It is all about attacking Bush and his administration. The Dems could care less about the substance. They want the issue to discredit Bush and his "illegal war." It is all about regaining political power.

Didn't catch Kristol's remarks. Releasing these prisoners will guarantee another terrorist attack imo. Treating them in the courts would supposedly give them recognition, status, and possible release by some liberal judges. Placing them "somewhere else" poses a real problem w/out solving a thing, doesn't it? WHERE would be a better place than an island off shore? Let Biden and his state have them PLUS tthe very real possibility of their escaping to anywhere here in the USA? THAT would really be a case of illegal immigrants running wild.
