Yes, he introduced such a bill and did vote against it. Whether it has been reintroduced I do not know.
That person should be sent to Gitmo...post haste!
I am praying for a commentator or guest to say that all Korans are going to be removed - separation of church and state, you know -
What REALLY makes me see red is the fact that by giving all this deference and special that book, our soldiers are being forced into the position of demonstrating to the scum at Gitmo that they (the Americans) are infidels, in the same category as dogs and swine, unworthy to touch a Koran.
I don't believe that this policy is a good one for our troops, but no one, not even Duncan Hunter, will say it out loud.
Democrats and the press want the draft returned so they can demonize it better; and they want to recreate the Vietnam era that they remember so fondly, as a time when they could control public opinion better. Harping for a draft will remain in the limelight until it's taken off the Democratic talking points wish list.
thanks
Judge Thomas rules. He will do so literally when he becomes Chief Justice! The libs remark about the shallowness of his opinions, but have you noticed, the first thing they do to any conservative is attack their intellect? I've read some of Thomas' opinions, and they are brilliant.
Ever notice that those who espouse a draft are all past draft age? Reminds me of the poet's "Old men make wars; young men die [fight] in them."
Which, it is often, but not often enough, pointed out they have not read.
"That person should be sent to Gitmo...".
LOLOMA
Au contraire.
Why is that if a Pub breaks rank - they are independent minded, but a demonRAT rarely breaks rank and when they do, nary a word is heard?
Agreed for the most part as long as it includes Democrats and the media as prime conspirators. Rangel was drafted and he's very bitter from his military experience in addition to the usual leftist Vietnam phobias.
"Bush is losing the PR war..."
You are dead on. One thing he could do is make better use of Cheney. Another is lift the limitation we are placing on our soldiers, marines, and airmen. Heavy pockets of resistance should be obliterated and damn the mosques. Also, for God's sake, he shouldn't ever have mentioned closing Gitmo.
Correct. Mara needs to shut up!
I can't argue in support of Bush & Co. in the PR wars. I know the things I read coming from the White House don't seem to be repeated in the press, and the positions Bush has are not reported fairly for the most part.
As to a solution, one would have to fault the White House as they do seem to take a long time to react well.
Brit voices my view precisely: The prisoners there are NOT covered by the Geneva Convention. Treating them as such or as criminals in the courts will be disastrous.
...and Juan, these people are MORONS!!! They actually believe closing gitmo is going to make the world love us? Aacckk...these people are getting on my nerves and I only have one left. Now Bill getting in on the attack. Is Brit the only sane one? Nevermind, I know the answer to that.
