If the blood was from sex, the sex may have been consensual or not, or it may have started out to be consensual with the first one and not the others.

I think this, too.

The white kid was the 'hook' man.

He hooked girls & once reeled them in, all three had their way.

I don't think this is the first time for these guys to pull this 'game' of theirs. Only the first time a death resulted.

The dems believe a woman has the right (responsibility) to be free with her body and to choose death for their children!

Man, I don't know what meds, legal or otherwise, you are taking but I don't want any of them if they're going to give me your kind of logic!

ROFL

Just a curious question - are you teaching your son to say "NO" himself or just if a girl says "NO"?

The logic is this -- it's like any other crime. The bad guys need the "perfect storm" of motive, means and opportunity. You can stop a crime by denying them any one of those ingredients.

I guess we should all live in a fortress and never leave.

Opportunity - the minute you leave the house.

Motive - how do you stop or inhibit another's motive.

Means - Anyone with the desire will acquire the means. Again, how do we stifle their acquisition of the means to commit a crime?

Give me an AGE. At what AGE does everyone become responsible for their own actions?

"Going out of the country" is not an AGE.

"I'm trying to figure out the tarionale around here. She is 17. That makes her a MINOR. Who is responsible for her? At what age are her parent's no longer responsible? At what age does she no longer need adult supervision? At what age does she become her own guardian?"

She was going to be on her own in a couple of months. Just as soon as she started college. I guess parents who send 18 year olds off to school are bad parents?

I am teaching my kids to save themselves for their spouses! If a girl comes on to my son, I expect him to say NO!

getting in the car was STOOOPID!!! and THAT is what got her killed... what don't you understand about it???

Holy crap! Do you walk around all day analyzing whether or not a crime can be committed by each and every one your actions? Is there no such thing as a random crime or are all victims of a crime in some way responsible?

Even if she hadn't gotten into the car she could have ended up the victim of this crime.

The world is a dangerous place.

In regard to motive, means, opportunity -- you need all three to come together all at once for a criminal to pull off a crime. This doesn't happen all that often in the great scheme of things, but it happens enough to be aware of your surroundings, etc.

The hardest evidence at hand seems to be --
1. she was intoxicated at Carlos and Charlies
2. the Dutch kid was in a shoving match with some of her fellow students
3. she left with the Dutch kid and his Indian friends in a Civic
4. she was kissing with the Dutch kid in the back seat while they were parked by the beach
5. she never got back to the hotel
6. there is blood in the back of the Civic

1 and 2 seem to come from multiple students from her school

3 and 4 are admitted to according to the defense attorneys

5 seems to be the case, according to the security staff at the hotel. The trio said they dropped her off, and the two security ex-guards were under suspicion. However, it now seems most plausible that the trio never brought her back to the hotel.

6 seems to come from various sources. But we don't know who's blood it is yet. And if it is Natalee's blood, it may have resulted from either criminal or non-criminal circumstances.

Sheesh!

OK - you didn't clarify that. You only said re your son that if a girl says NO, that means NO.

This doesn't happen all that often in the great scheme of things, but it happens enough to be aware of your surroundings, etc.

And, so naturally we should keep our 17 year old children locked up until they can prove that they are aware at all times. Of course, they can't learn to be aware until they get out in the world.

Ah, what a Catch-22 world we live in. Just spend your whole life, every waking moment as if you about to be a victime of a crime.

No, but you can train or educate your children to:

A)Be aware of their surroundings.
B How to defend themselves
C Employ basic Street smarts.
