I am going to get one of my stickers and put it back on my Jeep. I have patiently waited over 6 months for my brother to remove his anti-Bush sticker from his truck. He drives it to every family function. SO, one of my bumper-stickers is coming out of my souvenir stash and back on the car.

I am sick of this. For 8 years I kept my mouth shut at family gatherings. I never once brought up politics. BUT my democrat sister and brother needle at every opportunity.

Thanks for the idea! I have been disgruntled about this for a couple of months.

I got into an argument once with my sister about the school system

she kept defending themwith her .. they said this .. that said that

After her long winded argument .. I just said "they are full of sh**"

With that she says .. "well that's what I think, so I guess I'm full of **** also"

My response was .. "I guess so"

It took her over a month before she would talk to me after that comment .. LOL

We have the same situation. All of my husband's brothers and their wives are liberals. Family gatherings can be very tense; they're allowed to make snide political remarks but we aren't allowed to bring up any politics.

My beloved is going to blow one of these days, if I don't do it first.

My 18-year old son, bless his heart, keeps his 'W' oval sticker on the back of his black Edge truck .... right next to the SoCal sticker! He voted for the first time in 2004 and made a whole page in his senior scrapbook devoted to his voting for GWB ... and he had to turn it in to the ultra-liberal English department for final grading. He got an A, too.

My son is living in Bloomington and was spouting off some anti-war garble he had heard....I simply replied that I knew he was interested in all the good that the peace corp had done and started listed some of the similar things that our troops had accomplished, sewage/water system, replanting the large date crops, new hospital, schools etc. etc....and how they needed the protection of the military to accomplish these acts.

He said, "Mom, why haven't we heard about these in the media.....?

My in-laws are all the same also. My husband agrees with me on politics, but he is more of a moderate, while I am a
conservative. His family is total Democrat, they think that Clinton hung the moon and Bush is going to steal their social security money!!!! Oh, and the draft is coming back and I don't seem to care that my three sons will be going to fight for oil!! Needless to say, we don't go visit them much.
