Illegal motorists frustrating (illegal aliens responsible for hit-and-run collisions)

BRIDGETON -- Three strikes and you're out.

That might be the message city residents who have been involved in a hit-and-run accident, or have a loved one who has, send to their representatives in the Statehouse and the nation's capital if they don't heed City Council President John Ewing's third call for a summit to address the issue of unlicensed motorists driving uninsured, unregistered vehicles.

Is ANYONE counting the bodies of DEAD CITIZENS every year ????

I wish there was a way to do that. Whenever I read about how many "migrants" die in the desert I'd like to counter it with the statistics on how many deaths of Americans were caused by "migrants".

Just this morning they had a talk show host talking about the problems with fake proof of insurance cards. Instead of trying to arrest, and at the very least confiscate the cards, they send them out the door. In Colorado you need to have proof of insurance before you are able to register your vehicle.

"Police in Tucson wont even pull over illegals for speeding and traffic violations - they know that the illegals dont have to show up or pay for their ticket and the city does not enforce the laws against these perps."

Too bad the laws in Arizona are so lax.  Here in Fresno, California, we've a very large number of illegal aliens, but our police do pull them over and will not hesitate to impound the vehicles if the drivers are not licensed, insured, or registered.  The impound fees are not cheap either, and coupled with court fines, they can impose a very severe penalty.  The judges aren't merciful with their situation either.

Here in North Alabama at the end of May, a car of three illegals ran a stop sign and killed four folks, one of them an 18 month old.
The driver is in jail. They let the other two go because "if there isn't a bunch of illegals the feds won't come get them".
Four legal citizens are dead and two illegals are out walking and possibly driving again!
Where is the justice in that?!

"Easy answer: Illegals steal license plates and temp tags. In Coloraod, both plates are required. Illegals also use the front one as the back one and scrape off, read:steal; date stickers. "

Good point!  Here's one area that Mexico can teach us a thing or two.  When vehicles are registered in Mexico they get the two license plates AND a matching full size window decal that must be placed on the inside of the back window.  The decal is destroyed if anyone tries to peel them away.  Having that decal makes the stealing of license plates a worthless venture.  If the decal in the window doesn't match the plates, it's immediately apparent.  This is a smart, cost effective answer to the problem of stolen plates.

Police in Tucson wont even pull over illegals for speeding and traffic violations - they know that the illegals dont have to show up or pay for their ticket and the city does not enforce the laws against these perps. I assume other cities probably have similiar policies but they are not talked about. Illegals have more rights than citizens - if you dont believe me then the next time you go to the emergency room and they ask you for your id and insurance card just remember that the illegal does not have to show proof that he/she is here legally or can pay for services.

Same is true in LA. I, and many others I know, have had experiences with this.

Sounds good, but if they can duplicate drivers licenses, passports, green cards and matricula cards, a sticker would present no problem.

What is stopping illegals from getting an International Drivers Licenses?

Can a US citizen drive in Mexico without getting a Mexican Drivers license?

Why is it necessary for a State to issue an illegal a drivers license?

Does the US "honor" a legitimate Mexican Drivers license?

I wouldn't much care for a huge sticker blocking my back window.

"Sounds good, but if they can duplicate drivers licenses, passports, green cards and matricula cards, a sticker would present no problem."

That would take time, and while it may not pose much of a problem for the car thief rings, it would pose a major problem for the individuals with limited resources.  Anyway, doing something is always better than just finding reasons to do nothing.

BTW, for my own plates I use special screws that cannot be unscrewed along with a hard bonding material.  If anyone wants my plates they've some work ahead of them, and that increases the chance someone will catch them in the act.  I'm not saying it's impossible, but it certainly changes their odds of success in my favor.

They are transparent, but the important thing here is that they do thwart license plate and vehicle thefts.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that website before. I'll add it to my list of links.

You have any idea what the difference is between Hispanic and Latin? Do you suppose it's some PC way of not saying Mexican?

Do you happen to have a direct link to that list of names? The link http://justice.hdcdojnet.state.ca.us/wanted/default.asp just takes me to a page for doing a search by the inmate's names.

Sure don't.......I too questioned that so much *official* info was listed, EXCEPT country origin.

Could be much of this info was gathered from phony matricular cards, & mexico denies them being mexican. (at least with *that* name & DOB)

The federal government has left the American citizen no other choice than to declare war on illegal aliens that are robbing the working taxpayer of their hard earned money.

The folks in N.J just got their heads plled out of a nice warm palce.
We have been dealing with in So. Calif since 1986, when Reagan gave an amnesty that was supposed to stop the problem. There was a rquirement that they had to be here 3 years. As Oone Assistant D A said (in confidence) "They can prove that with their DUI convictions".

Not all of NJ. This article is about one town's struggle with the problem. I'm from an area populated by a large minority of illegal aliens. They work in every bar and restaurant-and there are a lof of those where I'm from.
Travel freely within the U.S. One just got back from a nice vacation on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. Get out of state driver licenses - they seem to prefer North Carolina. The local government does absolutely nothing to remedy the problem. My aunt is a public elementary school teacher and every one of her 15 or so students (the number varies with the transients) is an illegal alien. Every single one. Now imagine if you lived in that area and had to send your kid to school there. Your kid's English would get worse. Tax dollars at work. None of these people pay any form of income tax or property tax, unless you consider a portion of rent as applying to property tax. Because there are so many of these individuals that real estate agents show rooms. Not houses, not apartments, but rooms in apartmnets. Have been doing so for years.
