I watched part of "The Greatest American" last night.
Then, this morning, I passed by Arlington National Cemetary on my way to work.
That's where many of the greatest Americans -- far greater than most anyone I saw on TV last night -- lie in repose.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Amen, FRiend. I caught the very end of this freak show last night as they were scrolling the names for voting. Rosa Parks, ok. Eleanor Roosevelt, not my choice, but I can see why she might be named. FDR, ditto. OPRAH??? O-friggin-prah as the Greatest American? They did have George Washington, but there were a few other choices that I thought surely signaled endtimes.
People must be incredibly ignorant of this country's history to name some of these people as the greatest American. I'm not taking away from Oprah as a business woman or someone who has risen in her field, but to compare her with people who founded the country, made great scientific achievements, were active in civil rights, or fought and died for this country, to even have Oprah on the list is an insult to them all.
