GREATEST AMERICAN on THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL
SUNDAY EVENING PROGRAM ON CABLE TV

Posted on 06/06/2005 7:22:41 AM PDT by Bringbackthedraft

Watched the Discovery Channel show on the Greatest American countdown? You get to vote who you feel is the greatest American. The votes were web paged at aol.com./greatestamerican. It only takes a few readings of the bio's to see where they are going. Matt Lauer was the host, need I say more?

“And Robert E Lee should have never been charged with treason. You do know that he was never brought to trial on that charge/prosecuted by the government?”

I question the court would of convicted him. The South had every right to succeed from the union.

Because the United States government was trying to end everything as peacefully as possible.

Just because someone was never charged doesn't mean the act wasn't committed.

Just because O.J. Simpson wasn't convicted, doesn't mean he did't kill them! What's the old saying? "If the glove don't fit . . . he killed them with f***ing tight gloves on!"

KY only has 8 total reps, while GA has 13.

From what I undersand, until recently, 2 out of 8 of KY's were dems.

Now, you have 7 out of 8 Republicans (a GOOD trend taking shape over most of the country), which is 88% Republican. Pretty good KY.

We have 9 Republicans out of 13 reps, which is 69%. Not too bad, but not good enough. We'd certainly being doing better if it weren't for the inner-city wogs, miscreants, gang-bangers, RINO's, and dead people (and other various dregs of society that inhabit Atlanta in all to significant numbers)who consistently vote in the demonRAT scumbags that supposedly "represent" us in congress.

Basically, we've been 7 out of 8 GOP since 1998. There was a small window last year after a special election where the Dems held 2 House seats. That lasted less than a year though.

We lost the 6th District, but regained the 4th.

Hey, what about beavis and butthead?

Don't forget Archie Bunker,

President Woodrow Wilson was forgotten. He pushed for the Versailles Treaty to make the league of nations. Oh wait, his first election win was from his defense of individualism and states rights. Darn

So which "Greatest American" person has the most laws violated?

Malcom X? Caesar "not a legal citizen" Chavez? Clinton (either one)? Franklin D. Roosevelt? Muhammad Ali? Michael Moore? Martha Stewart?

Scary. I'll try not to vomit.
I found only 1/4 of the 100 list to be worthy of listing.

500+ channels and it's still garbage out.

Of course not. There would be no room for the entertainers that did so much for this country...

I used to like the discovery channel, but as of late, I don't trust them that much.

But I'm sure Trump, Barack Obama, Michael Moore, George Lucas, Michael "it's a boy!" Jackson, Steven Spielberg, Hugh Hefner, Jimmy Carter, Caesar Chavez, and Muhammed Ali would do the same....
"Why are looking at me that way?!"

Excellent post Skooz.

"Paul Bunyan, who else could have carved the grand canyon by dragging his axe along the ground. Geesssss"

Don't forget John Henry, Johnny Appleseed, and Pecos Bill.

Well, Paul Bunyan cut down trees, owned blue ox (endangered species)and did something similar to open pit mining. John Henry (an uncle tom for having a job). Johnny Appleseed was a fruit pusher and introduce a foreign species to an ecosystem. And Pecos Bill was gun-toting cowboy.

At least that's the liberal side.

Sad part is that you don't know that he's not an American.

Even sadder is that you would vote at all in this piece of crap show.

You, my friend, are living proof of my contention that there is no sarcasm, no matter how broad, that will not be lost on at least one FReeper.
