Bayliffs being sworn in, alternatives have been sent home!
This circus is about to be in the hands of the jury!
Bets? Predictions?
The defense might have ofered that deal earlier.and had it accepted..but it's too late now..
Hey Michael!! Don't drop your nose!!!
Then again who nose? might be guilty....
LA juries, don't..this one does.....BTW..remember that all the legal talking heads were telling us just before the Scott Peterson verdict that the prosecution had done a terrible job..
I had a similar experience once when I was on a jury. I asked one of the two who refused to convict since they said they were against the death penalty, "In other words, you lied to the DA when you said that you could vote to convict the defendant to death?" She lashed out at me for stating the truth about her lying.
If convicted, he will have a bad time in prison! Prisoners do have compassion for children, and they very much dislike child killers and abusers!
Do you recall the number of days the OJ and Peterson trials lasted..not including jury selection..the actual trials..compared to this one..I wonder if jury "fatigue" can be a factor when they deliberate?
You are right that most of the experts were wrong in the SP case. I cannot help but think the jury will convict Jackson. I have to admit that whenever they play the old Jackson 5 tunes on the oldies station I crank the volume up.
The Jury will not be sequestered or deliberate over the weekend. If he has already planned for this, he should be able to escape.
If he is sitting in court when a guilty verdict comes in.........it's handcuffs and off to jail to await sentencing. Well, unless his lawyer gets the Judge to let him out pending appeal etc....and I seriously doubt that would happen.
I read somewhere that prisons have special sections of cells for prisoners who are endangered.
Good points. No phony nose in jail either? Could he use it as a weapon? As a tool to dig a tunnel? I pity his poor guards who have to look at him without it.
And without ongoing dermo treatments, will his skin revert to black? And his hair kink up again?
The jury is going to be out a while I think.
I don't think he'll have to worry -- the government will put him in super protective surroundings, he'll probably have his own personal security guard. Other prisoners won't be allowed anywhere near him.
I think he will be convicted on the misdemeanor alcohol charges and given probation at which time he will flee the country.
So if there is no way he would be free after a conviction, if he is going to escape it, he has to kill himself or flee THIS weekend. Or risk the jury's decision. I don't see him risking it. Unless there is a conviction tonight.
ok, stupid question, but does his nose actually come off??
His people have probably already hired other "people" in prison to look after him should he wind up there. He'll probably have a posse in there just like he does on the outside. You know, those huge black guys with the scowls and the suits who hold the umbrella for his self?
My personal prediction is:
NOT GUILTY.
Not because I think he isn't guilty, but because I can't imagine him being convicted. Scott Peterson is the only case like that that I can think of. O.J., Robert Blake...virtually all stars on big charges like that are aquitted. Plus, I don't think the prosecution made a good enough case. The defense didn't do great either, but the burden of proof is on the prosecution.
