TAMPA -- A 7-year-old boy fatally beat his baby half-sister with his fists, feet and a two-by-four because he was jealous of the attention she was receiving and because she wouldn't stop crying, police said Wednesday.
The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office is trying to decide whether to file charges against the boy in the attack that rattled even veteran homicide detectives.
"The veteran detectives who worked on this case have never seen a case with someone as young as a 7-year-old show so much violence and so little remorse," McElroy said. "The only explanation he gave is he wanted her to stop crying."
The unidentified boy was not taken into custody and is living with his mother in Lakeland while prosecutors make their decision. The attack occurred May 22 at the home of the boy's father in Tampa.

I know of a last name Lipschitz.
My sister had a professor in college named Dr. Dipschitz. He wanted his students to call him "Dr. Dip."
Not long ago, there was a thread here about an anti-cohabitation law in North Carolina. Immediately the libertine libertarians on FreeRepublic pounced on the thread, insisting that no harm ever resulted from "consenting adults" living however they pleased. Our thread today offers just one more example of the horrendous evil the "scratch-the-itch" generation has done to its own children. There is a good reason that our ancestors regulated the behavior of "consenting adults," and this is the reason.
Don't be sorry. The "parents" are now responsible for two lives lost. What does this boy have to look forward to? His only hope is to be taken far away and put with people who will actually love him.
Your dad knew Frank Zappa's kids?.
Yes...although I may be confusing this with a DIFFERENT family that my dad knew (the family in question consisted of two parents with FOURTEEN CHILDREN). I'm a little fuzzy.
Now that I think about it, I may have been wrong.
Back in the days before he had children to name, Frank lived in my neighborhood in Baltimore.
Yes...they are Frank Zappa's kids.
I think the kid's been twisted by the selfish actions of his parents. There's no telling what another kid would do in the same situation, but it's obvious there was a failure to parent, to show love, and loyalty.
