A former FBI agent who outed himself as Watergate’s “Deep Throat” is not Jewish, contrary to what President Nixon and his aides believed.
Mark Felt, 91, revealed himself to Vanity Fair magazine this week as the best-known anonymous source of the last century. Nixon, who clashed with Felt over the FBI’s refusal to use questionable means to track down leaks, came to suspect that Felt leaked information. In a 1972 conversation recorded on the Nixon tapes, top aide H.R. Haldeman tells the president that Felt is Jewish. Nixon expresses shock that a Jew could have reached such a senior post, and speculates that Felt — J. Edgar Hoover’s right-hand man — might be leaking information because he is Jewish.
In fact, Felt is of Irish ancestry and claims no religious affiliation.
I haven't read the rest of the article but this much is misleading. Obviously Felt was not as senior as Kissinger and what Nixon was suprised by was that Hoover would promote a Jewish person so high in the FBI which isn't the same thing, not to say that Nixon wasn't above some minor ethnic biases.
Nah I've heard those kinds of audio playbacks of Nixon before with my own two ears, for better or worse he did say those things about Jews.

Yeah but come on, that was fourty years ago and Nixon grew up what...seventy years ago? I wonder how far PC will advance in fifty more years. I guess we'll all be seen as moral cretins by those who make the most of such things.
Nixon was a good friend to Israel, and indeed elevated Kissenger.
This article addresses only the notion that Nixon may have erroneously thought thst Felt was Jewish, as on the tape being widely reported.
The only point that I was making was that such statements are well-recorded on the Nixon tapes. It's rare that anyone has to speculate regarding what Nixon thought about something or other.
As for the comments of their own accord: Nixon lived in the real world. In the real world, it would've been surprising in the early 70s for a Jewish person to have risen through the ranks into the #2 position at the FBI.
What's the big deal?
Nothing like having the fox guarding the hen house. OFCOURSE he didn't want an investigation of leaks. What a creep. Talk about having a spy in your midst. That was during the cold war and VN. I'm surprised he hasn't turned out to be a Soviet agent. Time will tell. He managed to bring down a stauch anti-commie administration.

Al Sharpton was permitted to run for President without "David Duke" like demonization about his "Jew them down" comments.

The point of an article like this seems to be "kick Dick" one more time, and by extension, Republicans.

There are Jews all over the world, even in Ireland. If he claimed no religious affiliation, he probably was Jewish. Does anyone remember around the 60's, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, I think his name was Robert Briscoe...was Jewish????
Nixon could...
Nixon recorded the "Nixon tapes" himself, or rather, he ordered them to be made. Nobody to blame but himself for that.
Liberals are quick to speak ill of the dead, like they always do, by bashing Nixon (like they did with Reagan, may he rest in peace) and bringing up that he made anti-Semitic comments. What's more anti-Semitic, making a few disparaging comments about Jews off the record, or wanting to cut all aid to Israel and let the violent, anti-Semitic Muslims drive them into the ocean like they want to? Nixon was a friend to Israel, a champion of peace, and one of the greatest presidents of the 20th century. It's no surprise the liberal media distorts his image into that of some sort of ogre.
At the cost of appearing to be sarcastic, what are we going to give credit to the Jews now for?

OK, sarcasm over, I hated Nixon, and no amount of rewriting will likely alter that. Perhaps Ann Coulter will write about the circumstances of Nixon's demise in her next book. THEN I might consider repenting on the matter.
