That was Reagan's pardon of W. Mark Felt and Edward Miller, and obviously at the time Reagan did not know that Mark Felt was leaking criminal investigative information to Woodward and Bernstein at the Washington Post.

I almost wonder if Reagan did suspect it, because Nixon's resignation paved the way for conservativism within the GOP.

The guy was pardoned for acts similar to what Nixon's guys did.

The mistake by Nixon was that when he found out, he protected his guys instead of turning them in.

By the way, isn't it nice to see the presidential pardon used this way, instead of being used in favor of FALN terrorists and career crooks?

The media will be hailing him as a hero, but this could hurt Woodstein given that his probable motivation was revenge for not being given the top FBI job and they've been saying that he's the second coming...

"I almost wonder if Reagan did suspect it, because Nixon's resignation paved the way for conservativism within the GOP."

Nixon WAS THE Conservative back then. He fought Kennedy's big union government, he fought the communists on moral grounds, and he would have won the war in Viet Nam had he not been cheated out of victory by vote fraud in 1960.

And that vote fraud was outrageous but he did not want to throw the country into turmoil (unlike Kerry).

Nixon is a fallen hero of the conservative movement.

I always thought that "Deep throat" was a compilation of various people that came forward with ideas and leads to W and B. To me, if true, then Felt is a traitor to this country. While in a senior position he disclosed state secrets at the highest level. He should have come forward and disclosed this data to the proper authorities.

Nixon should never have resigned! He should have fought the "slime media-Democrats". Because he did not fight back, we have the Democrats using smear tactics yesterday, today, and tommorow. Clinton did much worse and never even felt guilty.

I guess at 91, this guy's only thrill in life is to see his name in the headlines before he craps out. Besides, the family can capitalize on it with book sales, speaking engagements etc. Everything comes right back to money.

If he had come out in the open when ANYBODY cared, he should have been tried for treason.

Since he didn't, who cares NOW, except his family hoping to get some bucks out of it, and it's probably too late for them too.

I think President Reagan had a feeling Mark Felt was "deep throat", if not, he definatly thought he was a Nixon leak, and he did not like Nixon.

Ehhh... Nixon wasn't my kinda Republican anyway.

Way too self conscious and dour.

I like my Pubbies bright, shiny and upbeat.

The MSM of the 1960's and 1970's snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in Vietnam, and then engineered a coup that deposed Nixon after his 1972 landslide, which gave us Gerald Ford, which gave us Jimmuh Cahtah, which gave us malaise, high unemployment, high inflation and the retreat of the West around the world.

Some kinda record for the weasels at the Communist News Network to crow about.

we're just reliving 72 all over again
------
It was 73-Aug.74

Rush doesn't have his facts in order.

BTW: If Rush hadn't heard of Felt, he's really ignorant.

Rush shows an astounding lack of knowledge about the Watergate scandal here. Felt had been suggested for some time. Where were Rush's research staffers?
