The author did a very skillful job of not disclosing the source state of the tainted blood and who it's governor was.

A girl I went to school with died this past winter. She had a rare blood disorder and in 1981 underwent a transfusion in New York State. The blood was tainted and she was diagnosed as HIV positive. Her life was a living hell, but she lived 24 years after she received the tainted blood and devoted her life to speaking about HIV/AIDS.

John Plater, who contracted HIV and hemophilia from the bad blood, called the conviction a historic occasion. You can contract hemophilia? I could have sworn it was an inherited genetic disease.

So the 1.5 mil for the scholarships and research will no doubt have the red cross banner all over it so its just relabeling an existing planned outlay.
In the end they will pay a $5,000 fine and be done with it.
Boy thats what I call accepting responsibility.

If they did this, what many other things will they have done?. I am surprised that the victims won. The Red Cross denied the charges!. I guess they have a lot of money for the best lawyers and they still lost. That's why I am surprised and that's what make me think they have many other cases of corruption. All over the world...this respectful entity....so charitable....

"The Canadian Red Cross Society is deeply sorry for the injury and death caused to those who were infected . . . and for the suffering caused to families and loved ones of those who were harmed," Dr. Pierre Duplessis, the organization's secretary general, told the Ontario Superior Court in a video-taped apology as tearful victims looked on.Is this a joke?
The Red Cross; isn't that the organization that is always so concerned about the well-being of terrorists and Saddam Hussein?

screening for HIV and hepatitis C in blood in the 1980s. I know there was no blood test for HepC until the 1990's Just an error I noticed, I don't know about the HIV part though.
